Nyrandisa was sitting under a tree in a public park area near the camp The Pack had set up. In her lap was a book, and in her left hand was a quill. She was busy writing some things down in the book. As she was jotting things down, she was humming a Jeran tune that she remembered when she was still in Neraida. Perhaps she was yearning to see home again, even if she might not get residency when everything is done. The stuff she was writing down in the book was in her own diary, though it wasn't labelled as such because she didn't want everyone to know she had a diary. The current pages she was on had a few wet spots, with all but one having dried over already.

Kinu:

We find now the wild Wanderer in its natural habitat, skulking about in the branches of a tree like it wishes to imitate a squirrel. Its ponytail bounces slightly as it hears humming, a catchy little tune that it can't help but be curious about, so it uses its nimble reflexes to swing from tree to tree and- well, unsubtly poke her head out from the leaves of the tree, hanging upside-down, her ponytail drooping further down. Ooh! "Hello, friend!" Gully said, a big, beamish, upside-down smile on her face. "Oh, that's such a lovely tune. What's the book? Is it a good yarn?"

NethaEmerald:

She was busy writing something when the sudden sound and face caused her hand to jump, inking others parts of the pages. That did make her upset, but she wasn't going to take it out on this woman. Taking a moment to look over her, she responded with "The book isn't something anyone is allowed to read." as she closed it tight. "As for the tune? It's a rather popular Jeran song tune. I find myself fond of it and a little homesick."

Kinu:

"Ooh, I don't remember much of that myself." Gully grinned, poking a bit further out of the tree, revealing, among other things, the fact that she was climbing this tree in full armor. With deft, catlike tread, she flipped herself right-side up, twirled a bit in the air, and shifted to holding onto the branch with her hands, though she did bonk her head on a branch as she fell. Unfazed, she asked, "What's it called?" Her wings fluttered a bit in curiosity.

NethaEmerald:

"The name of the tune, if I recall it right, is 'An Ode To The Forest.' At least, I think that's the name. It's been years since i've heard it's actual name." Nyrandisa responded with, noticing the wings fluttering on this other woman. "You might be more familiar with it than I am." She also said with a smile.

Kinu:

"Oh, no, no, definitely not." Gully giggled. "It's a new song to me, and aren't new songs wonderful? New just about anything is wonderful- ooh, you know, once I heard a story about a man who knew everything, but knowing everything was so dreadful boring that he decided to know that he knew nothing. His favorite stories were those about himself! He loved learning about himself." She was swinging a bit on the branch idly. "And isn't that such a concept? Learning about yourself? Often I wonder what amnesia must be like, and I think it must be a scary thing, but ever so interesting as a thing to survive." Beat.

Kinu:

"Hi." Smile. "I'm Gully!"

NethaEmerald:

When Gully was so ready to talk about amnedia, Nyra made a mental note that Gully might be suffering from it. It also came as she put emphasis on learning about yourself. "Indeed. Though if you already know everything about yourself, you won't have much to learn by yourself. You learn more by forging bonds with others who shape your future self." As the other Jera introduced herself, Nyrandisa decided to not pry on that topic of the fact she was a Jera herself and said "Name's Nyrandisa."

Kinu:

"Oh! Cheerio, Nyra!" Gully let go of the branch and safely landed on the ground, spinning a bit, her ribbons twirling, and striking a bit of a pose. "I love making friends!" She tilted her head to the side, her ponytail bobbing. "What's out today by this tree but writing? Oh, or is it just you're of the literary persuasions and came out for a bit of inspiration? I tried writing something once myself, but oh, it was a bit of hogwash." She snorted. "Wordsmithery eludes me. Just not quite built for it, I suppose."

NethaEmerald:

It was clear that Gully was very bubbly and full of energy. "Anyways, what i'm writing in here, as i've said, is not meant to be seen by other eyes, so the contents of the book are irrelevant. Anyways, you could say I am here so I can focus, at the very least." She set the book down under her legs, which were propped up by bent knees, to help keep it safe without needing to fiddle about in her robes. "You can always start with personal writing. Or ask around. I'm sure there are some literary masters who would love to give you advice to be a better word smith."

Kinu:

"Oh, lovely!" Her wise new friend Nyra certainly seemed to have the lay of the land around here. How convenient, even if she didn't actually say if there was anything else about the tree for her to be doing. "If the need ever bes, I'll see what happens!" She clapped. "Ooh, but you know, recently I did sign up for an army around these parts, or something." With a giggle, she looked off into the distance. "I might not have time to what with all the rollicking about battlefields I'm doing. Oh, I thought about enlisting once, but it just wasn't the right time, hm? Plus horsies aren't all that nice to me- though they're better than the birdies, you know? Very ornery creatures! Sometimes I wonder how anyone manages to ride them at all!"

NethaEmerald:

"You need to slow down. I'm having some trouble keeping up with you." Nyrandisa said to Gully, needing a moment to process what she did hear. "As for this army? You need to go to those tents over there." She pointed to them. "And talk to the canine laguz man known as Zain. He will get you filled in on everything."

Kinu:

"Oh, so then you've enlisted as well!" Gully enthusiastically grabbed Nyra's hands, beaming. "Oh, I'm ever so charmed to be working with you. Already a friend and I've hardly even begun! Today is a good day! Er-" She looked around, frowning suddenly and making little huffing noises. "Bosko? Bosko? Oh, where did that grumpy old kitty get off to while I wasn't looking? I swear, Nyra dear, I find one tree and then he goes off and leaves me!" She made a noise not unlike a tea kettle blowing steam. "What a frustrating kitty he can be. How can I introduce him if he simply gallivants off? Oh, I've got to go find him, lest he grumpy-bums at someone without me to keep him in line!" Bolting off, Gully waved to her new pal as she did. "Bye, Nyra!" A pause as she got further away. "By the way, you have very nice wings! I like them!" She didn't know where she was going.

NethaEmerald:

When Gully left in a hurry, she just sat there confused. Nevertheless, she did say "Oh well thank you. I like yours too." "What just happened?" Was all she could ask herself in her head.
