Millie's swords clinked as she dragged it back to the camp, worn a from a full day of training. But despite the tiring drills and excersises, Millie herself felt refreshed. Whenever she felt bad she trained, perhaps a bit too much sometimes. Today had ended like any other day, and as she walked back to the campground she pondered on what to do about dinner. The afternoon sun flitered through the treetops peacufully, and Mille couldn't help but pause to admire the sereness. In the distance, the sounds of birds chirping along with the rustling of leaves beneath her feet suddenly sparked an urge to drink tea. She yawned, and adjusted the swords hanging off her back. Perhaps she'd even break out the sipping choclate she bought earlier.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

Nnnng... A peculiar looking female, rather on the short side, lazily walked through the campgrounds (Why she was there in the first place, or how, who knew), seemingly lost or atleast searching for something. And completely oblivious to most people's presence.

cyber:

“Hmm?” Millie didn’t recognize the odd stranger strolling through the campgrounds. It was technically off limits to the public, but security was decently lax so it wouldn’t be hard for someone to accidentally wander in. Maybe she’s just lost. Still hefting her swords Millie approached the girl calmly and put her hands on her knees to talk to the shorter person. “Hi, can I help you with anything? If you’re lost I can show you how to get back to town.” Although she was actually the younger sister of the family, Millie subconsciously treated the young girl as if she was an older sister. It just felt natural.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

The person awkwardly turned to see Millie, rubbing one of her eyes. "Uuuuuh...? Wha?" She replied haphazardly. "Loooost?" She paused for a moment, "I'm just... searching for where Im suppose to go..."

cyber:

Millie nodded and stood up. “Well do you remember where you’re supposed to go? Are your parents with you? Maybe I can bring you to town and ask someone there?” As Millie looked the newcomer over she noticed that she didn’t appear to be a dragon Laguz, so it’s possible she or someone with her was doing business with the dragons. Perhaps she would ask Zain about it later.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Ehh," She scratched her. "I don't have any parents here." She said as a matter of factly, all while yawning. "I was suppose to come here for some investigation thing..."

cyber:

“Investigation thing...? Oh, are you a new recruit?” Zain hadn’t told her about new recruits, well he had been kinda holed up in his tent considering his complexion so it was understandable. Himaya was doing his best but he just wasn’t leader material like Zain. “When did you get here? Do you think you’d need help getting yourself situated?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Uuuuh, I think not too ong ago." She answered vaguely, turning her head around. "Oh, and that'd be niiiice"

cyber:

Millie quickly dumped her stuff at her tent and grabbed a clean towel to dry herself off, letting it hang by her shoulders. She also took off her jacket and wrapped around her waist, letting her now sleeveless arms get some fresh air. “Well how much stuff did you bring with you? For now we can probably stuff it in your tent but tomorrow we should probably find a spot for you in the convoy.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She blinked, before putting her hands to the side of her hips... to show a bag she had attached. "Uh, that's it I think?"

cyber:

“Oh... Well lets see if we can find you a tent.” Millie whistled as she rummaged through the campground supplies, looking for a spare tent for her new teammate. “So where are you from? You must be tired.” She looked as if she was about to collapse.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Uhhhh, Iunno" She mumbled, following her. "I just came here I guesssssss, yeah." She nodded. "Is there... foooood?"

cyber:

“Oh, well I can probably cook something for the both of us later but it’ll be nice if you have some place to sleep and put your stuff in. Look! It’s our last fluffy bedroll! You’re lucky, the other ones feel like they’re made of wood.” Millie happily held up a log shaped sleeping bag, which looked very soft and warm. She wasn’t sure exactly what was fresh to eat but she did remember buying some lamb earlier that morning that she left in the icebox. “Oh I’m Millie by the way, what about you?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Oooooh-" She gave a curious glance at the bedroll, already interested in it. It took a moment for her to actually reply. "Oh! Uuhh, Evelyn, Evelyn." I wanna sleep... or eat... or sleep...

cyber:

“Nice to meet you Evelyn!” Millie cheerfully hefted the heavy tent bag along with a couple tools. “Once we pick a nice spot for your tent and and set it up I’ll cook something nice for you, sounds good?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Mmmmh" She gave a half-response, grabbing the sleeping bag and just kind of... seeming blissful in place. "Uhuh..."

cyber:

Millie smiled upon seeing the little girl happily hug the bedroll. Perhaps Millie would let her borrow a stuffed animal from the convoy as well. “So how’d you learn about the investigation team?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"i saw posters and ads" She said casually, barely turning her head.

cyber:

“They still have those?” Then again Millie joined late and she too had learned about it through the posters. As she began unpacking the tent components she handed Evelyn a pole. “Can you hold that for me?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She grabbed the pole, but the weight almost pushed her back.

cyber:

“Ah careful!” Millie quickly grabbed the poles so it wouldn’t topple the poor girl. “Sorry about that.” Millie wondered what Saarva or Zain hired Evelyn for, because Millie did not peg her as a fighter. Maybe she was an interpreter or an analyst. “So what did you do before you joined us?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"I did some jobs for pay" She used the pole to balance on the ground. "And escorts..."

cyber:

“I see.” Millie made good progress with the tent, making sure not to hit the girl again. Once she finished, all that was needed was to put down the bedroll. “Oh, if you have any combat gear I can bring them to the armory later.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She took out her sword. "Sooooooooooooooooooo... what do you do...?"

cyber:

“Oh uh-“ Millie waved her arms and tried to get her to not damage anything. “I just place it on a rack with the rest of the weapons. I promise it’ll be safe, I can even give it a tune up if you want.” Just please don’t slash your tent or something.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Noooo, as in, what do you do here as a soldier." She corrected herself.

cyber:

“Oh, yea of course.” Millie laughed a bit nervously, embarrassed that she had misunderstood. “We it depends. Right now we’re just preparing for the next investigation site so not much. But the sites are guarded by hostile security so we’re mostly escorting the rest of the team so that they don’t get stabbed.” Millie avoided mentioning the shape shifting demons so she didn’t scare the new recruit out right. “Fortunately it’s not like we’re always on our toes, but it’s still pretty tiring.” Millie resisted the urge to invite Evelyn to her next training session. If she was good enough for Saarva she probably could hold her own. “We haven’t had too many casualties yet, but if it wasn’t for our healers a lot of our team wouldn’t be here.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Ohhhh..." She seemed somewhat surprised. "I guess escorting is something that's easy, " "Well, I think I'll be fine anyways." She shrugged, the imminent danger not sounding unpleasant "But I meant you, yoooou ." She pointed at Millie. "Are you an aaaarcher? Heaaaaaler? Mounty persoooon?"

cyber:

Guess she didn’t notice the swords when we first met. “I’m a swords woman.” Millie didn’t say anything else about it, fighting was not her favorite part of the job. Sure she had to do it, but watching the team face enemies without her was worse. “How about dinner? Do you like lamb?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"I can eat anything, I guessss." She licked her lips, looking around.

cyber:

Millie found the pot of lamb chops that she was marinating and carefully put it on one of the nearby wooden benches. Still whistling cheerfully she then used her tongs to grab a couple pieces of charcoal onto the grill and lighted them with a bundle of tinder. "Do you know how to cook?"

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

The owl quietly smelled the aromatics of the meat, the nice sizzling of the meat making her stomach rumble. "Uhhh... kinda..." She replied, moving closer. "Wooooow, it smells goooood..." She blinked, turning to her. "What's your name again?"

cyber:

“Millie.” Millie smiled and continued to manage the grill. She wondered if Evelyn was like this all the time or just tired from traveling. Maybe Millie was being mean by inviting her to dinner rather than let her rest. She seemed very attached to the bedroll. “So what kind of food do you like to eat usually?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"I eat food." She said very bluntly. "... Like... bread... fruit... I guess mice... sometimes vegetables..."

cyber:

“Mice...I see...” Millie gave Evelyn another look. Maybe mice was normal at home for her, or maybe some kind of laguz? She didn’t notice any cat or dog ears, but she supposed it was possible that it was hidden. “Well I’ve never had mice before but I hope lamb is just as good.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"It smells... niiiice..." She muttered, walking perhaps a biiiit too close and taking a big whiff.

cyber:

“Whoa careful, don’t want to get burned.” Millie gently put a hand on her shoulder, making sure she didn’t get too close.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Whoops" She jumped back, almost flailing her arms. "Ahaha..." "I'm hungry..."

cyber:

“It’s almost done, don’t worry~” Millie felt oddly content for some reason. As if helping Evelyn set up the tent snd cooking for her was something she’d always wanted. But she quickly wiped away the thoughts as the lamb chops finished and were ready to serve. After dumping them on the plate she quickly toasts some bread and douses the charcoal when she was done. “Here you go, enjoy.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She took the plate... And dives her head down, forgo'ing utensils as she bobs right up, chop in mouth as she munched it whole. "Mhm...." She chewed, eyes closed as she was still half asleep.

cyber:

“Ah, you must be really hungry...” Millie did her best not to gawk at Evelyn’s impressive eating prowess and took a small bite out of her bread. “Did you like it?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She gave a subtle 'mmmmhmmm', before swallowing the rest of it.

cyber:

“I’m glad...” Millie stared at her half eaten chop with a puzzled look. Evelyn truly was an unusual girl. “Do you want mine too? I’m not that hungry so I don’t mind.”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Ooooooh!" Her eyes beamed up at the notion of food. "Foooood!"

cyber:

Millie used her fork to transfer the lamb chop, glad that there was someone out there that liked her food that much.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She munched again at blinding speeds. "Thank yoooooooooooooooooooooou..." "You're a nice person Millie...""

cyber:

“Thanks.” Even if she was weird Millie supposed she liked Evelyn. She seemed like a good girl. “Is there anything else you would like?”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She shrugged, licking off her plate. "A cozy tent... and maybe knowing where other people are..."

cyber:

“Yea you must be tired. Don’t worry about cleanup, I can handle it if you want to sleep.” Millie began stacking plates into the pan and cleaning out the grill as she did so.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Thaaanks..." She mumbled, following Millie senselessly.

cyber:

Millie smiled and gave Evelyn a pat on the head.

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

She purred, somewhat oddly, before kind of spinning around and laying flat on the groud ontop of her bed roll.

cyber:

Millie sighed and tried to detach Evelyn from the bedroll. “C’mon you gotta unroll the bedroll first.” She chuckled and did her best to carefully extract the girl from the bedroll. Once doing so she flicked the bedroll open with a single swish. “See, now it’s done!”

nͫiͤcͫeͤ:

"Ohhh, whoops." She nodded, before giggling. "Maaan, thanks again Millie, you're sweet!" She threw her arms and jumped on the bed roll, snoring. "Aaaaah, it's been too long..."

cyber:

“Well I’ll let you sleep now, good night.” Millie quietly waved and closed the tent flap. Poor Evelyn must have been really tired. Wondering what to do about tomorrow, Millie grabbed the dirty dishes and headed off to the nearest spigot.
