[12:06 AM] != Izanagi: Breath in. Inhale Breath out. Exhale Breath in Inhale Breath out Exhale Mars sat in the middle of the town square of Maufi trying to filter out the noise of the townsfolk around him. Training his ability to focus was something he'd often done when he got a chance, as it was a necessary skill as both a travelling mercenary and a teammate of those seeking the truth. This, incidentally, was his favorite time to think up lyrics for the songs he'd inevitably never write, much less perform. "Right before your eyes, rose up from the lie, time to claim our rights, it's time." Mars whispered, his voice was so low that if he wasn't giving his total attention to it, he never would've heard it amongst the bustle of the town square. The thought of that lyric, of performing the kind of song that that lyric would go in in Mytia for all to watch made Mars give as wide a smile as his mouth would let him. To the average passerby however, Mars was just some guy in white robes sitting down on a bench in the middle of town square, sometimes he'd mutter some nonsense and they'd just keep walking, maybe a bit faster because of how admittedly creepy he looked with his head hung low and his hood covering his face.

[8:22 PM] cybershadowX: The town square was bustling with people as Millie strolled down the road. In the center, a large, marble fountain of a fish spewed water into the air. A few Ayzer children happily lobbed small stones into the pool, making little wishes like "I want to get a new doll." She had wanted to do some shopping before they left Maufi, since she wasn't sure when they would be near civilization next. Down for the sheep. Food and water for the journey. Some chicken food for the new hen. Oh yea I haven't given her a name yet. The bag had grown quite heavy from the various items so Millie looked around for a place to take a break. Most of the benches were occupied, save for one near the center, which only had 1 person on it. "Mumble mumble mumble" Millie stared at the odd person for a second. He wore white robes unlike what most Maufi residents wore, so he probably wasn't native to the area. Was he perhaps a tourist, or even part of The Pack? Millie felt a bit too shy to ask so she set her bag of stuff down and sat next to him, leaning forward with a sigh of relief. It's so hot today... Her white hair fell over her shoulders and she propped her elbows on her knees as she watched the other town square folks do their business. It seemed so peaceful here.(edited)

[9:08 PM] != Izanagi: Breath in Inhale Breath out Exhale Breath in Inhale Breath ou- Thump Mars' consistent pattern of breathing was interrupted when another person sat down rather quickly, causing the bench to shake slightly. Who on earth? Mars looked up and around, and saw the white haired woman sitting less than a meter apart from him. After staring at her for what was probably enough time for onlookers to notice, he looked around, and saw that the spot next to him was the only spot available. Guess I can't just move, might as well go back to my routine then, here's hoping she's not a noisy one. Alright, 1 2 3- 2 2 3. Breath in Inhale Breath out After a short time, Mars starting moving his gaze back down towards his legs, with his hood now almost totally covering his face.

[9:14 PM] cybershadowX: I wonder what he's doing. After a few minutes Millie reached i to her papet bag and took out a wrapped sandwich along with a bottle of sparkling water. The paper bag rustled from the movement, along with the unwrapping of the sandwich. Rustle Rustle Rustle After a few bites she uncorks her drink as well, causing a loud pop along with an audible fizz from the carbonation. A seagull called in the distance, and the sea wind blew Millie's hair towards the robed man, bringing with it a hint of her pineapple shampoo.

[9:26 PM] != Izanagi: Breath in Inhale Breath out Exhale Breath in Inhale Breath out Exhale Despite the fact that there were plenty louder noises that Mars had been silencing with focus for a long time before the woman had arrived, Mars was ripped out of his focus again and again by the little distractions and noises that came along with the setting. After finally failing to properly grasp the focus he'd been striving for for a solid 5 minutes, he sat up straight, threw back his hood, and decided to focus on something more concrete. After scanning the area for something noticeable, Mars saw that the top of the fountain directly behind him had a small leak, causing it to shoot its water unevenly. That's just annoying, someone should really go fix that. Mars looked around for some kind of city official, maybe just some repairperson to fix that damn pipe. Alas, this was to no avail. Fine, I guess I'll just have to do it myself. Mars stood up quickly from his bench, and started walking towards the fountain.

[9:45 PM] cybershadowX: Millie continued to chew her sandwich as she watched Mars head towards the fountain. He seemed to be staring at a small leak on the fish statue. Almost fixated by it. Maybe I should go make a wish too. Throwing away her wrapper she idly strolls up to the fountain and chucks a light pink stone into the fountain, where it plops right next to a roosting gull. CAW! The gull was not pleased by this sudden plop and flew away indignantly.

[9:57 PM] != Izanagi: Mars could no longer hear anything but the quiet sound of a faulty pipe. The little hissing sound that came from a pipe not quite getting all the water out of 1 hole. After stepping into the fountain and approaching the center, shoving a few children and parents out of the way whilst doing it, Mars walked up to the little geyser, and saw the ugly steel piping that carried the water, presumably from the nearby sea. Well, alright, that hole isn't going to be easy to fix without a lot of tree sap, or... Mars got a little smile on his face. He placed his hands on the leak, and after a while, removed them, seemingly having made the leak totally vanish. What he actually did was freeze a small bit of the water, forming a blockage that stopped the hole. With this new pressure, the water at the top of the fountain not only came out evenly, but also in a larger quantity. Mars was drenched by the water coming down at full force, causing him to lose his balance and fall backwards into the pool.

[10:06 PM] cybershadowX: SPLASH Mars hit the water like a boulder, generating a respectably large wave which splashed Millie and a few bysranding Ayzer families. One girl excitedly threw her hands into the air and jumped into the pool as well, much to her mother's annoyance. "What the- Are you alright?" Millie bent over the robed man, her hair and clothing soaking wet from the splash.

[10:25 PM] != Izanagi: Groan Mars' groan was loud, loud enough to draw a crowd of concerned people. His head ached more from the splash into the pool than the little bump he'd gotten when he reached the bottom and hit the sandy floor of the fountain. "You know, these Ayzer might just be geniuses, making a fountain with a sand layer at the bottom to prevent accidents. Maybe it has other purposes too, maybe it siphons water slowly, allowing it to continually cycle water without need for a ton of ocean water constantly." Mars said in a tired, somewhat in pain voice, groaning through some of the pauses. He stood up, now totally covered in water from head to toe, and looked over toward the crowd of people that had assembled around him. Shit, did I say that aloud? "Uh, don't worry everyone, the leak was repaired, and now you should be able to enjoy your fountain in all its glory." Mars said with a hand behind his head, massaging a little bump that had formed from the impact. "It is, however, just a temporary solution, and it probably won't be long before the leak returns, especially in this weather. I'd recommend someone contact whoever is in charge of the infrastructure around here and tell them of the leak. Maybe you should send someone further in land to get some tree sap, it'll probably fix the hole up for quite a while after it hardens." Mars said, giving his best 'ditzy guy that wants to help' impression. After the crowds started to clear, Mars stepped past the few remaining people and started walking back towards his tent so he could dry his clothes.(edited)

[10:50 PM] cybershadowX: Ugh now I'm all soaked. Millie returned to grab her shopping stuff while trying to wring out the water from her shirt as best as she could. She wasn't that grumpy, since it seemed like that was just an accident. Picking up her bag she began heading back towards The Pack's convoy to go drop off her stuff. --- It's that guy again... Despite his head start Millie managed to reach the tents the same time as the guy who was fixing the fountain. His tent seemed to be a bit away from the other tents, for some reason... "Uh, Excuse me." She called out to him, still soaking wet. Maybe he was part of The Pack as well. It wouldn't hurt to get to know all of them anyways.

[5:27 PM] != Izanagi: "Hm?" Mars turned to see the woman following him. Unfamiliar with her he thought one of the odds of what she could be, his best guess was a civilian who just thought he was still in pain. "Sorry ma'am, but this is a mercenary camp, unless you have hopes to hire us for something, please leave, we have important work to do." Mars said in a condescending tone. He frequently used that tone whenever he thought his actions would have no consequences.(edited)

[6:22 PM] cybershadowX: Millie's right eye twitched. "First off, I'm part of The Pack so I have every right to be here, and second, The Pack is an investigation team, not mercenaries. Unless of course, you haven't realized." Millie managed to keep her tone calm as she continued. "Plus, aren't you a bit too clumsy for a mercenary?"

[7:13 PM] != Izanagi: "..." Mars stared blankly at this woman, absolutely stunned. "...You know" Mars began speaking after quite a long pause, his condescending tone didn't simply vanish either. "there are 3 major things that were wrong with what you just said. First of all you just revealed the name of our investigation team to some random person who could've very well been a civilian. There's a reason I called it a mercenary camp and there's a reason why we are camped out like this, we don't want to draw suspicion. Second of all you assumed that just because of a minor mistake I made and a little act I put on that I was somehow just a good natured fool prone to the occasional accident." Mars' tone shifted from one of arrogance to one that seemed to radiate anger "Third, and most important of all, you not only assumed that because of a single accident I was just a fool, you also acted based on those assumptions, taunting me." Mars already had his tome in his left hand, concealed by his robes, as he stuck his right hand out from under said robes. "And trust me, if you weren't a member of this team of ours..." A faint purple outline of a sword appared in Mars' right hand, he raised his right hand above his head, and slashed forward at her with all the speed he could muster, taking a large step forward in the process.

[7:25 PM] cybershadowX: Millie saw the attack coming from a mile away and rolled her eyes before juking to the side. "You sure you really want to do that?" Shiiiiiiiiing The myrmidon unsheathed [Impenetrable Delusion] from its scabbard, the etchings and glyphwork radiating mana into the air. "I guess I could blow off some steam too, since you just kind of drenched me back at the town square. Oh, don't worry, this isn't the first time I've killed a mercenary." Millie pointed the blade of her sword at the man tauntingly again. She had dealt with plenty of people like him before, why should this be any different?

[7:56 PM] != Izanagi: Mars stared at the purple outline of his sword "A double-edged straight sword this time, hm." Mars said in a monotoned voice, seemingly losing all anger from the words he'd spoken before. After staring at his sword for a little while longer, he looked back up at Millie "Ah, you're fine right? Good. It means you'll be of use to us." Mars threw the outline to his side. The moment it left his finger tips, the outline faded at an incredibly fast pace, and was totally gone before it would've touched the ground. "For future reference, my name is Marcellus, please call me Mars. I look forward to working with someone who can at least see an attack as telegraphed as that one coming from a mile away." Mars turned around, and started walking back towards his tent.

[8:01 PM] cybershadowX: Millie raised an eyebrow before wiping the determined look from her face. It seemed that a single miss had already quelled his anger. Her blade silently returned to her sheath as she leaned against a tree. The day was incredibly hot, and her shirt and shorts were almost dry. "My name is Milaya. Nice to meet you" She did her best to mask the sarcasm in her voice as she introduced herself. "What were you mumbling back by the fountain earlier anyways?"(edited)

[8:06 PM] != Izanagi: Mars was already walking away, by the time she had mentioned the fountain, he was barely in earshot. When he heard her mention what had happened, he yelled back towards her "I WAS TAKING A NAP, YOU PROBABLY HEARD GIBBERISH AS I WAS TRYING TO FORM WORDS." Mars kept walking.

[8:13 PM] cybershadowX: "Whatever helps you sleep at night." Millie continued to lean against the tree as she watched him walk away. She didn't bother to follow him, since there wasn't really any point. What a nice guy She began heading back to the convoy to sort out her shopping goods, much grumpier than before. Although she had planned to change her clothing before it had dried to the point where it didn't matter. He must have been a mage of some sort, since he clearly had no idea how to use that sword.

[8:22 PM] != Izanagi: Well, one more body for the wall in front of me and the Innocents. Mars thought, now inside of his tent, musing on who Milaya was. Regardless, she may be someone of interest if she turns out to be smarter than her choice of weapon and general speech suggests. Mars laid down on his bed spread, and continued thinking.
