[9:44 PM] NethaEmerald: Towards the end of the day in Maufi, Nyrandisa was sitting down on the side of a walkway in the middle of town, watching as the Ayzer of the town moved about. There was a lot about them that she didn't understand, but wanted to learn more about. She had done work in the day already, helping out however she could within her own skill sets, and trying to learn more about them at the same time. However, even with her efforts in the day thus far, there was still a lot left to learn about Ayzer, let alone all the other races like Kano, Florkana, and Ingwaz. And if she was ever to become a more competent healer, both with magic and non-magic means, she needed to learn all of that. As she sat and watched, she was eating some food. It was a lot of sweet, citrusy fruit mixed with sugar. Lots and lots of sugar. She got some weird looks, but proceeded to ignore them.
[9:55 PM] Shade: Namaka walked down the street, yawning. The boat ride had been long, and more importantly, boring. The ship captain hadn't been fond of letting her do much of anything on the ship, leaving her with little to do. Meeting with Zain had been more interesting, but a little confusing and annoying as well. And being back in Psari wasn't exciting. She'd grown up here - or at least somewhere similar enough. She'd never been to Maufi, but Psarian towns were all too similar to Namaka. Her eyes scanned over the places along the street. Same old, same old; same old buildings, same old people, same old figure with wings and a robe, same old- Namaka did a double take. 'Is that...?!' Turning sharply, she barely restrained herself from sprinting over to where the winged woman was sitting. "Hey there!"
[9:58 PM] NethaEmerald: Just as Nyra had taken a huge bite out of an orange, someone came over to her and called out to her. Looking to like a deer in headlights from a full mouth, she simply just waved, trying to swallow her food before doing much of anything else. It was interesting, however, that this Ayzer had come up to her, with some pep in her steps, and seemed really friendly. Not that the rest of the town wasn't, but they usually didn't like her line of questions to them. Regardless, a small smile came to her face as she was still trying to swallow the bite. It was hard to break down with her own teeth from the sheer size of it.
[10:05 PM] Shade: 'Whoops.' Namaka smiled sheepishly, shifting her weight back and forth as she stood in front of the other woman. "Sorry 'bout that, didn't mean to catch ya mid-bite." She didn't sit down yet, waiting for a response. She didn't want to make a huge deal of it, knowing that the woman probably already got something like that everywhere, but... Namaka couldn't just not ask, either. Even so, that didn't mean that she wouldn't do her best to be polite about it.
[10:43 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyrandisa eventually swallowed the bite she had down. Thankfully no juices dripped from her mouth for eating that much. With her mouth finally open again, she took a breath and responded to the woman with "Sorry about that. Bit off more than I could chew." making a joke about the situation. "Anyways, hello. What brings you over to my little area of this town?"
[10:51 PM] Shade: 'Her area?' She tilted her head slightly, but then moved past the wording and onto her reason for approaching the woman. "No offense, but I noticed that you're from out of town. Ah, rather..." Namaka quickly ran through a variety of ways to word her question, but eventually failed to come up with anything that sounded quite right. Instead, she just came out and asked, "You wouldn't happen to be a Jera, would you?"
[10:56 PM] NethaEmerald: When this other woman was so blunt about it, Nyra joked back with "And what could have given that away? The wings? The antennae, the hair color?" She was in good spirits about it. "Can't say i've ever had someone run up to me in excitement like that before." She added on. "What a perfect chance... she seems interested in me, and i'm interested in her. Likely for different reasons, but we can probably scratch both our itches if we end up keeping in touch." She mentally said to herself.(edited)
[11:00 PM] Shade: "Well, I mean, yeah, but not many people have seen any of you guys, so I wanted to make sure and not just assume, ya know?" The positive response relieved Namaka's unease about her awkward phrasing of the question, and she continued. "And how could I not be excited? Meeting new people, learning new things about other races and cultures - what's not to be excited about?" She waved her arms along with her words for emphasis. Without a hint of embarassment, she grinned and stuck a hand out. "My name's Namaka, Ayzer. Happy to meet you!"
[11:11 PM] NethaEmerald: "That... is true. We do seclude ourselves mostly to our home, rarely ever leaving. And those who do find themselves back home for long periods during their travels." Nyrandisa responded back with. As the hand came out to her, she shook it. "My name is Nyrandisa. Nice to meet you too." However, she began to think about home after talking about it. She missed home so much. She just wished she could go back home and have a simple life. But she knew she couldn't. At least, not yet. She might in the future, but for now? She was homesick.
[11:17 PM] Shade: Unfortunately, Namaka completely missed any possible signs of Nyrandisa's mood. "So, what brings you to Psari? Just visiting to see the sights, or got some business here? I don't exactly find Psari to be much of a prime location for sight-seeing, but that's probably more from growing up here." Figuring it would be rude to just ask about Nyrandisa's reason for being here without offering her own reasons, she added, "I don't live here either; I thought I'd be going somewhere else, but the group I'm with apparently decided to head to Psari." She shrugged. "Don't think we'll find much here, but what do I know, yeah?"
[11:24 PM] NethaEmerald: When Namaka mentioned that a group she was with was here, Nyra responded with "Does the name "Zain" or "Saarva" sound familiar to you?" She didn't even go into details about who she was with. She knew that "The Pack" had come here, waiting orders on what to do next. She hadn't seen any other groups of non-natives around.
[11:31 PM] Shade: "Uh, yeah, they do." Namaka blinked in surprise. It took her a second, but she made the rather obvious connection. "...You're with this group too? Nice, meeting my new teammates already." Another grin spread across Namaka's face. Not only was Nyrandisa a nice person (from what she had seen) and a way to learn more about Jera, but she also wasn't going to just up and disappear as soon as Zain's group moved on!
[11:40 PM] NethaEmerald: "Yes; I am with that group. It's the only onw I know of that's here in this town, hence why it was easy to figure out." She responded with. Eventually, she stood up and took the last bite of orange, but not before dumping a lot of sugar onto it before doing so. "A shame; I prefer honey so much more to sugar, but honey isn't as easy to acquire..."
[11:46 PM] Shade: She raised an eyebrow at Nyrandisa's reasoning. 'But couldn't there be other groups in town she doesn't know about...?' With a shrug, she abandoned the thought. For all she knew, Zain's group had investigated the town already and knew no other major group was in town. Instead, Namaka focused on Nyrandisa's statement. "Wish I could help, but I don't really know too much about food beyond eating it. I'm one of those people who's willing to eat most things as long as they're prepared well."
[11:51 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyra almost gagged when Namaka said that. "So you go through life, eating whatever you can find? Not caring about how it tastes? That's... so savage. No offense. I like to cook stuff that tastes good almost every time I eat. Hearing people who don't care about what they eat hurts me a little inside..." She explained back.
[11:52 PM] Shade: "Hey! I care about how it tastes!" Namaka frowned. Even for something that Nyrandisa was passionate about, that felt a little rude. "I said as long as they're prepared well, didn't I? I don't just eat anything, I'm just not picky about the types of food. Like, sweet versus spicy doesn't matter, they're both good to me."

[12:36 AM] NethaEmerald: When Namaka called Nyra out on what she said, she was quick to say "My apologies. Must have done very selective hearing there."
[12:40 AM] Shade: "Oh, no problem then! Apology accepted and all that," Namaka smiled and waved the issue away. She saw no point in making a huge issue out of a small mistake; why be angry when she could just accept it, move on, and let everything go back to being fine? "So what kinda foods do you like? You said something about liking honey over sugar earlier, yeah?"
[11:07 AM] NethaEmerald: Nyrandisa nodded to the second comment. "Jera like sweet stuff. Really sweet stuff. The stuff that could give Beorc a toothache and cavities faster than you can believe. But we're fine eating that stuff all day. Likely due to our butterfly parts of us and how they love sweet pollen and nectars. Other than that, we vastly prefer fruits and vegatables to dairy and meat."
[11:22 AM] Shade: "Hmm, interesting. I haven't really noticed any particular eating habits for me or any other Ayzer... We have a lot of fruit, but that's more because we farm a lot of it," Namaka mused. "I guess there's a decent amount of fish as well, but I think that's just because of availability too? Oh!" She perked up, clapping her hands. "I don't think I've met any Ayzer that likes really dry food! Probably because of how much more water we need than other races."
[11:24 AM] NethaEmerald: "So things like bread and raw potatoes are what you all don't look for? I'll keep that in mind if I ever cook for them." Nyrandisa responded. She was so curious about what she knew about anatomy, but didn't want to sound too pushy and ask too soon.
[11:26 AM] Shade: Namaka grinned, happy to have shared something that was useful. "Good to hear! And if I ever have to cook for us," she paused to grimace, "then I'll try to include sweet stuff for you, yeah?"
[12:22 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyra laughed a little. "Just be wary of the others; they aren't as into sweets as I am."
[12:26 PM] Shade: "I'll try to remember that. Although no offense, but hopefully I don't have to cook much. It's kinda boring, especially when it's a lot of people and you have to make enough for all of 'em."
[12:47 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyra could understand that. "Well, I suppose I better get back to camp. I's getting dark out and won't do me much good personally if I can't see."
[12:49 PM] Shade: “Alright. It was nice meeting you! Let’s hang out again sometime.”
[12:54 PM] NethaEmerald: "Nice to meet you too." Nyrandisa said as she began to lead the way back to camp. "Didn't get to ask my own questions, but it probably would have weirded her out..." She thought.
