[9:30 PM] cybershadowX: Millie watched with wide eyes as her ship entered Maufi’s port. The dockside wooden huts were very different compared to what Nicirian houses were usually like, even in port cities. Her red bow and snow white hair fluttered in the sea breeze and she resisted the urge to yell in excitement. Not waiting for the crew to lower the gangplank Millie threw her bag over the side before jumping onto the dock herself. The pack gave a satisfying thump, but the fall wasn’t enough to damage anything. Although she had planned to pack light, there were so many things she couldn’t leave behind. Clothing, cookware, her spare sword, an old violin, and her 2 beloved stuffed animals, Kiko and Pocky. (A blue whale and a seal respectively.) She quickly checked that nothing was broken before swinging it over her back. Whistling a cheerful toon she strolled into the port city. When Millie first heard that she was going to Maufi she was extremely elated. She had heard many stories about Psari and loved their tropical fruits, if she could find them at a reasonable price. Furthermore, she had heard legends about the famous blacksmith, Ignatious Fury, and wanted to at least see him forge something while she was here. Grrrrrrrrr Millie paused midstep. In her excitement she had forgotten to eat anything and her stomach had come to remind her. Looking around she hoped she could find somewhere to buy food.

[9:43 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera was sitting at a bench nearby, rubbing her eye. What exactly WAS it that happened back there? Angels? Zain? Jo? Thinking this over, Kiera was suddenly curious if she were dreaming that she was in some kind of tale. But after splashing a little water in her face, she came back to her senses. And speaking of them, this place piqued her interest! There was seafood in abundance- a true luxury back home in Northern Ramalia- beautiful beaches and seas, and the bright, shining sun that reminded her of her home. Kiera loved this place already. She could worry about that crazy battle later, possibly bring it up with Zain...

[10:03 PM] cybershadowX: “Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr” Unfortunately for Millie she didn’t really know her way around Maufi. She couldn't tell if any of the buildings were other businesses or homes. Although the Ayzer were generally pretty friendly for the most part, she was still a bit shy to ask for directions. In her nervousness Millie twirled wrapped a lock of hair around her left index finger. A couple minutes later she decided that it would be better to simply ask. Turning her head she surveyed the area to see who looked the most approachable. She noticed a nice looking beorc woman sitting on a bench and timidly walked up. “Ummmm, excuse me...do you know any good places to get food? I’m a bit new to this city”(edited)

[11:08 PM] TastyChicken12: "Hm?" Kiera looked over to the woman, who seemed far fancier than she was. "I don't reckon I know a place in particular," she said, shifting around the axe that is holstered around her back.(edited)

[11:59 PM] cybershadowX: "I don't reckon I know a place in particular." Millie noticed the axe that the woman had was swung behind her back. ”I wonder if she’s a guard? No...A guard in Psari would be Ayzer or Kano, not beorc. If she isn’t familiar with the area she might be travelling through as well.“ “Oh that’s ok, sorry to bother you.” Millie turned to keep looking but paused midstep. “Wait, I have another question.” Awkwardly scratching the back of her head she asked, “I’m looking for a man named Zain, do you happen know him by any chance?”

[12:15 AM] TastyChicken12: "Uh... no... but if you show somethin' that... you're here for... can I get some proof you are a recruit?" she inquired, trying to remember what Sally said about keeping the group "low profile" or something along those lines.

[12:54 AM] cybershadowX: “Uhmm….” Millie set down her back and began to rummage around inside. She removed a few items in order to get to the bottom of the bag, including Kiki the stuffed whale. “I know it’s in here somewhere” Her voice was now muffled since she was now headfirst in the bag. Saarva had given her a scroll to give to Zain but she had packed it first. “Got it!” She extracted her head from her bag and flipped her hair back over her shoulder. Taking the slightly squashed roll of sealed parchment. ”I hope it’s still acceptable,” Millie thought as she handed the woman the scroll.(edited)

[1:02 AM] TastyChicken12: Kiera took the scroll. The Fighter's intention was to see a seal of some kind that resembled the letter that she had received after Saarva's approval to join the team. She slowly- trying not to tear the paper- looked onto the letter and nodded seeing it, and looked back and forth several times with her purple eyes, pretending to read it. It looked more like a giant puzzle to her than anything. A puzzle she hoped to solve one day. After "reading" the letter, Kiera handed it back. She continued, "Alright, alright, 'nough of the games an' all. I'm Kiera, one of the soldiers servin' for Zain's company. So ah, I do know him!"

[2:12 AM] cybershadowX: "Oh uh, I'm Millie! Nice to meet you!" Millie stuffed the scroll into one of her pockets and began to repack her things. She was glad that she had been able to find someone in Zain's group so quickly and forgot about her hunger for a second. "Grrrrrrrrrr" Millie's face flushed with embarrassment as her stomach reminded her of food. "Uhmm... If you don't mind...Do you want to go grab something to eat together? Maybe we could find a shop that sells something we both like?"(edited)

[9:44 AM] TastyChicken12: "Uh, sure. Seems like you're hungry, probably," Kiera guessed. She stood up and stretched upwards; a small cracking sound became audible.

[5:11 PM] cybershadowX: Millie slung her pack over her back and looked around. "Let's see...." They were a bit closer to the center of the Maufi so there were a lot more stores. She spied a wooden sign with a giant wooden fish engraved with the words: "Hakuno's Fish Market and Grill." "That place looks cool. Wanna try there Kiera?"

[6:21 PM] TastyChicken12: "Ooh, sure, I reckon that place is good," she replied. Man, what I'd give to have there be a fresh seafood place in Manx just like they have here everywhere...

[6:34 PM] cybershadowX: “Great!” Millie marched on forward into the restaurant. Compared to the dimly lit taverns and posh cafes that she was used to the Fish Market exuded a completely different atmosphere. The straw roof combined with the open exterior and sea breeze made it seem much more bright and tropical. She waved down an ayzer waitress and excitedly dragged Kiera to their table. Millie was brimming with questions for her new coworker but she didn’t want to overwhelm Kiera with too many questions. “So what’s it like working as part of the...Is it called the pack?”

[6:42 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera noted that Millie and her were standing eye-to-eye, making this conversation easier for the Fighter, who had difficulties in speaking as it was. "W-Well, we're busy an awful lot. We were just in a big string of nasty battles- downright cruel their commander was... not ours! Zain's fine! It's just we had issues where we were just at, and a bunch of complicated an' confusin' stuff went down, and I'm still scratchin' my head wondering how it all even makes sense. But we're alive! And that's what matters!"

[6:52 PM] cybershadowX: Millie nodded at Kiera’s explanation with but her enthusiasm had drained a bit. The reality of the danger of fighting on the frontlines returned and she silently scolded herself for treating this like a vacation. Even if Kiera had made it seem like no one had died it was very possible someone could get mortally injured. “I see…” She took a sip of juice that she had ordered and relished the tangy tropical taste. “So do you guys just fight battles like the army or something else?” ”Now that I think about it Saarva never really mentioned anything besides the investigation team”

[6:55 PM] TastyChicken12: "An army?... well, I can't answer that. I don't know how real armies do things! All I know is that some crazy cap'n out there decided to attack us, so we fought back. Ain't nothing wrong with protectin' yer own!"

[7:03 PM] cybershadowX: "So they must be somewhat high profile if a commander went out on his way to attack them." Millie had already finished her juice before the food even arrived. She contemplated asking for a refill but decided that she should watch her weight a bit. "What's your favorite part of being part of The Pack?"

[7:05 PM] TastyChicken12: "Well, it's meetin' everyone here, and gettin' to see the world! I've never been outside of my hometown before comin' here, so it's a big ol' adventure. Plus everyone here is polite at the very least, usually pretty danged friendly, I reckon. Ain't a mean soul to be found," Kiera said with a smile as she asked for another mug of beer.

[7:20 PM] cybershadowX: "That's good to hear." As she said this the waitress had returned and placed the large sea bass with rice and potatoes that she had ordered on the table. The steaming fish combined with the shimmering potatoes beckoned her. She wanted to start eating first but it would be rude if she did before Kiera got her food. "So what did you order Kiera?"

[7:23 PM] TastyChicken12: "I got the tuna... wrap? Of some kind? I dunno, but it comes with potatoes that are cut into square tubes that are fried," she responded with a smile as her hands were folded on the table. Her foot was tapping audibly as she drank a little more of the mug.

[7:32 PM] cybershadowX: As soon as Kiera mentioned the square tubed potatoes the waiter placed down the platter in front of her. "Ooh, yours looks good too." Now that Kiera's food was here Millie had an excuse to begin eating. She snatched up the fork and knife and began shoveling the fish, rice, and potatoes into her mouth at lightning fast speeds. Any manners she had tried to keep up earlier had now disappeared.

[8:07 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera blinked a few times and shrugged. Well, if she's doing it, I guess she won't mind! The Fighter followed suit, eating her ways through fish wrap, fries, and beer like no one's business.

[3:58 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera, wanting to know her comrade more, asked, "So, Millie... where're ya from?"

[5:00 PM] cybershadowX: Millie slowed her eating but otherwise wasn't fazed by the question itself. She had plenty of practice lying about her past and she wasn't about to stop now. "I'm from Pachima, a little town in Niciri." She took a sip of water. Too little information and it looks like your hiding something. Too much and you start to sound a bit conceited. "I've pretty much lived there my whole life. My father would sometimes take me to the coastline to do fishing or sailing but that was about it." Millie sighed and looked out the window. Oh how she wished it was like that in reality.

[5:05 PM] TastyChicken12: "Nicri... Nicriiiiiii..." she thought out loud as she was starting to get a buzz off the alcohol she was (and had been) drinking. "I ain't familiar with there. but I reckon you had fun with yer dad, goin' out on the ocean an' all that such."

[5:08 PM] cybershadowX: Millie noticed Kiera's words slurring and smiled faintly. She pulled the beer out of reach from her new friend and replaced it with a cup of water. "What about you Kiera? Where do you hail from?

[5:15 PM] TastyChicken12: She took away my beer! "Hey, gimme it back! I was gonna finish that'un!" she said half angrily, half playfully.

[5:19 PM] cybershadowX: "Alright fine~" She slowly and tantalizingly pushed the beer back forward. "Just promise me you won't drink too much."

[5:46 PM] TastyChicken12: "This is my last. And you can tell me that I said that!" she said with a smile. "Now uh... you asked 'bout where I was from. Well, I'm from a Beorc tribe in Ramalia."

[5:49 PM] cybershadowX: Millie nodded. Although she had never been there herself the history classes in Rettati occasionally went over it. "I heard it's super hot there. Can you speak Pallo? I've always wanted to learn but it's kinda difficult."

[5:52 PM] TastyChicken12: "Pallo?... that's the things- the old talk. I can't speak it, sorry," she said while finishing off the beer. "Also, it ain't hot in Ramalia. It's just cold everywhere else I've been outside of there!"

[5:54 PM] cybershadowX: "I guess that's one way too look at it" "So has you and the team just been patrolling around Psari or have you been travelling a lot? If so, where have you been?"

[5:59 PM] TastyChicken12: "I reckon I told you I ain't ever left my village..." she muttered to herself. "Rettati's the only other place I've been, but here's the new place. I think I'm gonna enjoy my stay here!"

[7:37 PM] cybershadowX: "So they've already been to Rettati huh...." Millie contemplated ordering a drink of her own but decided against it. She silently hoped they wouldn't need to go back for the investigation.

[10:10 PM] TastyChicken12: "Wanna hear a little 'bout my village or Ramalia?" she asked while tilting her head.

[10:13 PM] cybershadowX: "Huh, Oh yea I would love to!" Millie caught herself from getting lost in her thoughts and returned her attention to Kiera. Waving down a waiter she asked for a beer herself before indicating Kiera to continue. "I hope I don't look like a hypocrite"

[12:44 AM] TastyChicken12: "Well, we're a Beorc tribe in a country that's mostly Laguz. It's sittin' in some plains north of the land... and, we mostly make our houses out of that white-ish color stone... sandstone, probably. Our roofs're flat since the nights are often cold back home, I reckon..." she says, oblivious to Millie's request for alcohol as she talks on and on about her tiny village home. "Oh yeah, we also do that thing where we send folks to talk to the queen. They ain't never come back unhappy, so that's a good sign. We ain't got problems with the Laguz of the country, and I hope they feel the same."

[12:53 AM] cybershadowX: Millie nodded as she sipped her beer. She never really liked alcohol but she supposed it was okay once in a while.
"I wonder what the queen is like." "Have you ever met the queen yourself?"

[12:25 PM] TastyChicken12: "I only wish I could! Maybe I could become a tribe representative someday, I ain't sure. But if I did, I reckon I'd be able to meet the queen!" she said with a big smile.

[12:43 PM] cybershadowX: "Huh..." Millie continued to sip her beer slowly. "I guess I've never really lived somewhere with a queen before." "Although Rettati did have the Symvoulvio" The thought of the Symvoulvio caused Millie to wince, and she took a larger sip of beer. Better to leave those thoughts in the past.

[1:02 PM] TastyChicken12: "Eh? How do they rule (hic), rule thins where yer from? Do you just have a council of elders instead?" she wondered.

[1:04 PM] cybershadowX: "Sort of..." Millie decided that now was a good time to deprive Kiera of her beer. Not that she wanted to ruin her fun but she didn't want her to have too bad of a hangover the next morning.

[1:58 PM] TastyChicken12: "Sorta? Ya dunno who's running yer home??" Weird.

[2:34 PM] cybershadowX: "I guess I don't since I've only lived in Niciri for 2 years." Millie propper her head on her hand and absentmindedly chewed a strand of her hair as she looked out the window. "It's more of a representative democracy. We vote for a bunch of officials and they control most of the politics." "I should figure out who the president is at least."

[3:47 PM] TastyChicken12: "Eh? How does that work? Why wouldn't you choose them most experienced folks to be the council?" Kiera asked, not understanding how having anything but a confederate monarchy would work.

[4:14 PM] cybershadowX: "Well the politicians do have a lot of experience. But it's more like we choose which one we agree with the most." Millie chose her words carefully. Politics could be a very touchy subject. "Especially when drunk people are involved" "Instead of having the most experienced people like elders, we have a bunch of them with differing opinions. We vote for the ones we agree with the most and whoever the majority chooses wins"

[8:40 PM] TastyChicken12: "... huh. The stuff you learn," she said with a silly grin as she twirls a curl of her hair before hiccupping again.

March 3, 2018

[12:13 AM] cybershadowX: By now Millie had finished her beer but the only hint of the alcohol's effect was a slight flush of the cheeks. She was glad she had a fairly high alcohol tolerance since it was still pretty early into the day. "Well we've been here for quite a while. Perhaps it is time for us to leave." "I wonder if Kiera will be able to get back to wherever she's staying safely"

[12:30 AM] TastyChicken12: "Sure, sure. Wanna get back to the hotel/inn place, I figure?"

[1:00 AM] cybershadowX: "Yea I need to unpack my stuff and maybe organize some of my gear. Carrying all that around hurts my back." As if to emphasize the wait Millie rolled her shoulders, causing an audible crack to resonate before sighing in relief.

[1:02 AM] TastyChicken12: "Aww, man. Here, I reckon we could help each other back," she said, taking pity on Millie almost as if Millie were... were an infant.

[1:03 AM] cybershadowX: "Oh yea I forgot to ask, are you and the rest of the team staying together in one place or do you have a hotel as well?

[1:04 AM] TastyChicken12: "Yeah, the hotel," she clarifies.

[1:05 AM] cybershadowX: "Oh, I haven't actually picked one yet, maybe I can stay at yours"

[1:05 AM] TastyChicken12: "That was the plan, silly!" she laughed.

[1:06 AM] cybershadowX: "Maybe the alcohol is getting a bit to my head" Millie smiled as she paid for their food and hauled her pack up. "Alright, you lead the way"
