"Ucra" Sidequest 1

Cast: Fia, NPC (Mappy) & Kiera (TC) & Sally (Nerf) & Mars (Midas)

TLDR: Fia enlists help looking for belongs in the ruins that is of the Rettatese western village, known to the party as "Ucra" from a broken and worn-down sign. After helping her and growing suspicious of her intentions, they attack her, only for her to disappear with the sip of a strange magic potion with some injuries.

[5:09 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Oh, uh, thank you so much for this... Uh, you see, I used to live here in this little village. And, uhm, when we were attacked, I had very little time to escape. Everyone was scared, and many people forgot to grab precious items -- and people -- dear to them. I wanted to see if somehow something I had forgotten survived," explained the woman quietly and shyly when the three volunteers came up to her offering their assistance. She turned around towards the direction of the goal, "You see that pile of rubble? My, uh, house was in that alleyway, but I can't, uh, get in there now. Do you think you could find a way to clear it, or, uh, perhaps make a path for me?" she smiled gently at the party, "Then we can start searching." --- Please take turns in this order: Kiera -> Sally -> Mars -> Woman so it doesn't become a mess. Woman will respond after any of the other three characters if directly addressed (you can do this if your character is directly addressed as well). You may also skip your turn by pinging the next character in line. Ping the next character when you're done your turn either way. ---(edited)

[5:18 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera blinked a few time. She had just finished preparing her equipment and sharpening her axes. She put the iron axe she was holding into its leather sling before answering. This whole debacle had left Kiera confused and angry, but she was willing to help. Not like she had much else to do. "S-Sure, reckon I could help clear stuff. Whatcha lookin' for, exactly?"

[5:24 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, uh, just some personal belongings... a painting or two, and some small trinkets from my childhood... y'know, memorabilia stuff. It means a lot to me, but it might be kind of hard to find them, if they, uh, survived and all," responded the woman, slightly nervous (she hasn't even remembered to introduce herself yet).

[5:29 PM] Nerf: "Lets not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?" Interjected Sally with a kind smile. "We we'll worry about that once we have cleared a path to your house. But first things first, who do we have the pleasure to be working for?"

[5:34 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, uh, yes. You can call me Fia. I was born and raised in this village, but now I'm just a simple seamstress trying to raise my child a few towns over," responded the woman, turning to Sally. Her head twitched slightly, and then she continued, "I've found some, uh, time to try and recover some of my things while my son's at school today."(edited)

[5:44 PM] != Midas: Mars looked at Fia I have a bad feeling about this... But, people need to be helped. I have to put aside my suspicions, at least for the now. "Well" Mars began "my name is Marcellus, call me Mars. The woman you see over there" Mars pointed towards the resident fighter "is Kiera. And this woman" Mars moved his hand to point at the thief "is Sally. We are a small group of friends traveling through, we are on no tight schedule, so I see no problem in assisting you."

[5:47 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: She nodded, "Its a pleasure to meet all of you. You must have a lot of time to spend some it helping someone like me... Anyways, uh, the debris seems to be mostly old wood and some stone? I'm too weak to move any of it, but I'm sure you all can, uh, find a way, right?"

[5:49 PM] TastyChicken12: "Y-yeah," Kiera said nervously. There was something about this woman that she could not trust... and it was unusualy for her to show such suspicion. At the same time, if she really were a mother, her situation was not unlike Kiera's, and not unlike the horror stories that the Fighter dreaded earlier that day.

[5:56 PM] Nerf: "Sure, we'll get to it," Sally replied cheerfully, any possible suspicions she could have about this woman unnoticeable to the common observer. "Do you think you can do something about this?" She turned to Mars. "It's gonna take us hours to clear all the rubble. Why don't you try using some magic?"

[6:07 PM] != Midas: Mars turned towards Sally, then towards the rubble, then back towards Sally. "Well, a powerful enough fireball should burn the wood away relatively quickly. I can conjure water to get rid of the flames should it start burning anything important, and the remaining stone should be easy to clear by hand or simply climb over.' Mars turned towards Fia "Are you ok with this plan? I can imagine that this won't feel particularly safe to you, but given the stone of the surrounding houses, it should be fine as long as I stay alert enough to snuff it out should anything go wrong." Mars gave an honest, reassuring smile. "Trust me, precision is one of my specialities."(edited)

[6:09 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Fia smiled gently and nodded again, "Of course, uhm, Marcellus. Anything to get back to my house. Just be careful..," the beautiful woman paused briefly, then added, "...not to hurt anyone. Maybe call to make sure no one is nearby before you, uh, set it on fire?"

[6:19 PM] != Midas: "Alright." Mars said the Fia before taking a deep breath and yelling "Everyone! I am going to attempt and clear this debris with some... extreme messures! Please stand clear, I do not want anyone to be hurt!" Mars took another deep breath, turned towards the debris, pulled the red fire tome from his robes and... Fwoomp a fireball appeared in his hand. Mars took aim at what looked like the big concentration of wood in the debris, and threw the fireball.

[6:21 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The old wood burst into flames, and most of it was burned away in a matter of a few minutes. While the stone was uneffected, there were a few locations were walking through or climbing over was easily possible. Fia gasped, "Its amazing what magic can do..."

[6:21 PM] TastyChicken12: "Right, um, where is you house," she asked blankly.

[6:23 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, yes, its the third house down on the, uh, left, I think," responded Fia, giving the requested directions, "If the floor didn't collapse or anything, my items should be on the second floor... It'll probably be a, uh, mess in there, so we might have to do some digging in the rubble..."

[6:30 PM] Nerf: Sally didn't need to hear it twice. Heading into the alley before anyone else had a chance to, she swiftly and gracefully made her way through the rubble, carefully watching her every step. Once she had covered about half the distance to where Fia's house should have been, she turned around to face the other three, signaling them it was safe to follow her path. "By the way, what exactly did happen here?" She questioned the woman. "It looks like they were trying to bury the entire town. How did you manage to get out?" Her tone was still friendly and polite, as if her question was merely spun out of plain curiosity.(edited)

[6:41 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, I thought you might ask that," answered Fia as she carefully made her way through the alley, which was littered with scattered debris, "Not too long ago, some of the Rettatese Army came in, and uh," Fia started to tear up a little bit. She wiped her eyes: "Sorry... I guess they needed money and supplies, or information, or something. Their general was hooded, but I could just barely make out some, uh, scarlet colored hair under it. Really shows how terribly our leaders treat us in this damned country," continued the woman, now clearly a little angry, "Oh, sorry, I shouldn't have gotten so fired up."

[6:48 PM] != Midas: That matches about what the heron said... but still... Mars shook his head Dammit Mars, you need to stop being so damn suspicious of everyone. Not everyone has some past that incriminates them like yours. Mars followed behind Fia, once Fia had finished speaking, he spoke up. "Uh, Fia, I'm sorry to ask you this, as you are clearly in distress, but uh, you didn't answer the other part of Sally's question, how did you make it out?"

[6:55 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: She turned to Mars suddenly, "Oh Kyria, I had forgotten... To be completely honest with you, I just, uh, noticed them coming in the distance. So I told my son we had to leave... and we just, uh, left. I didn't put much time into thinking about what to take, so I forgot these belongings you're helping me find," she lowered her head sadly and solemnly. Fia then looked back to Mars and added, "We're staying at my brother's home now." --- At this point, the group had reached the abandoned building that Fia used to call home. The building was two stories, and the floor was still intact. The second floor consisted of two rooms: a bedroom, and a storage room/closet. Pieces of the roof were gone, stone and dust was everywhere, bookshelves, dressers, and end tables were smashed and on the ground, and the bed frame seemed to have burned down by a candle, as seen by the candle carrier on the ground next to the mattress. Simply put, it was a mess and stuff was everywhere: "We're looking for three things, mainly... A painting of my parents, a stuffed doll, and an old scrapbook. We'll have to do some digging... I hope they're still here."

[6:59 PM] TastyChicken12: Doll... doll... scrapbook... I'd keep them in a dresser. You know. If I had somethin' to use books for... Kiera shakes her head and begins searching in a nearby drawer and shelf. "I'll start over here!"

[7:04 PM] Nerf: Sally on the other hand decides to go to the storage room, after realizing the shelves are probably too heavy for her to lift.

[7:08 PM] != Midas: Mars, seeing the sheer amount of dirt, pebbles, and other small things that could be done away with quickly, decided to search the bedroom with his own method. "Alright, let's see if this works." Mars sat down in the middle of the room, and focused, focused on trying to create enough of a gust to knock away the pebbles, dirt, etc. all to 1 corner of the room. Assuming this works, he would check the places he cleared of debris, then manually move the debris from the corner to check that final place.

[7:09 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Rolling for Kiera... Success! Kiera finds the doll. Rolling for Sally... Failure... Rolling for Mars... Success! Mars finds the scrapbook. You can present the items/finding of the items now, and once thats done, we'll do round two.

[7:11 PM] TastyChicken12: "Fia! I found your doll! Of sorts! This it?" she said, walking back to the woman. They were both quite tall, and Kiera noted that.

[7:12 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, yes, that's her! That's Dolly!" she exclaimed happily with a huge smile, and twitched, then continued, "Ahem... I mean, uh, thank you so much... this doll was my favorite toy as a kid... My son used to play with it too, as funny as it seems," she laughed gently.(edited)

[7:16 PM] TastyChicken12: "Your son must've been so happy," she said. Kiera lowered her head slightly while blinking a few times. She suddenly felt dark on the inside, thinking about the days gone by when she would play with Casey. Once, anyway, he started saying "Mama!" and walking. Before then, it was just a lot of work. Nothing really has changed in that sense for Kiera, but she did miss the life of just being able to play and raise her son.

[7:17 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Fia nodded, "Thank you so much for finding her..."

[7:22 PM] != Midas: Mars stepped back outside the bedroom to see Kiera and Fia talking. "Well, I have some good news." Mars began "I managed to find something in the bedroom." Mars held up the scrapbook "Is this what you are looking for?"

[7:24 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Ah, yes!" Fia hurried over towards Mars and took the scrapbook as well, "My mother made this a long time ago... and added a page every few months detailing something that we had, uh, did during that time... Thank you," she gently smiled and idly flipped through a few pages before closing the book.

[7:28 PM] Nerf: "Didn't find anything over here," the criminal points out as she emerges from the storage room. "Gonna try some luck somewhere else." So the painting is missing? It probably fell to the floor when the roof went down... Sally this time starts searching among the debris, starting from under the bed then going all the way to the stairs, putting special attention to the places close to a wall.

[7:33 PM] != Midas: "Hey Fia, about how big is this painting we are looking for?" Mars said whilst trying to figure out where on earth it could be.

[7:35 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Its not very large at all... I used to keep it on the end table, so it had to be just a few inches in both dimensions... It was amazing how much detail the painter fit into such a small space."(edited)

[7:37 PM] != Midas: "...understood." With that little detail, he figured out where to go next. He began searching the end tables around the rooms, if there was any dirt or pebbles in his way, he would, again, throw it aside with wind magic.

[7:38 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera nods at the descriptions and goes to search in the corner of the house's... kitchen? What remained of it, anyhow.

[7:40 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Rolling for Sally... Success! Sally finds the painting. Rolling for Mars... Success! Nothing remains, however, so he finds nothing. Rolling for Kiera... Failure...

[7:46 PM] Nerf: "I think I found it," she announces from the stairs. "Are these two your parents?" Holding the picture in front of her, Sally enters the bedroom once again.

[7:52 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Fia nodded and took the painting, and stared at the people depicted in it for a moment before responding to Sally, "Yes, they are." She slipped the painting out of the frame and looked between the back and the board that held the picture in place, a tiny space that would be hard for anyone to see just looking at the picture, and seemed relieved, "Ah..." Fia then looked back up at Sally and smiled, "Thanks so much... I, uh, think that's everything I was looking for."

[7:55 PM] != Midas: Mars was happy to hear that Sally had found the painting, when he had returned to see Fia staring at seemingly nothing, he walked up behind her and asked "What are you looking at?" with a smile.

[7:57 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Oh, uhh..." Fia took a moment to respond, "Its, um, nothing... Just a little personal thing I've been, uh, safekeeping in there... nothing very important."

[8:02 PM] Nerf: "I'm sure everyone has some stuff they want to keep private, Marcellus. No need to pry so much," she quickly intervened in Fia's favour. "Didn't you tell me something similar one time?" "Now," she talked to Fia this once. "Do you want us to help carrying all these things out? If we've already gotten this far, we might as well get the job finished."

[8:04 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera looked back and forth at Mars and Sally, not sure what to make of the questioning and Sally's defense of Fia. This woman- if she were telling the truth- was similar to Kiera in noticeable ways, so the Fighter wanted to empathize with her.

[8:09 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Um, no, I think I've got it... Its not very much..." Fia gently stacked the items into a position that she could easily carry them in. She put them down for a moment, and went into her small bag, looking for something... "Ah, here, I, uh, thought I should give you all something for your troubles... I don't have a lot of money, but I don't have anyone to share these with anyway..." the woman hands each of the three party members a small but tasty looking seed, commonly known as a Seed of Trust. "I'd really love to, uhm, give you more, but I don't have any money right now..." Fia looks somewhat saddened as she picked her belongings back up, "I have some herbs too... but my son is ill and needs them, so I have to keep them, as much as I'd love to, uh, give them to you..."

[8:12 PM] != Midas: "Oh, is your son ok? Is he bedridden? We have some herbs that we can spare if you need it." Mars said with an honest tone, and a similarly honest smile on his face.

[8:13 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Uh, no," Fia's arm twitched, and she almost dropped the items, "He can move around a bit... I think its just a really bad cold or, uh, something like that. The doctor is stopping by in a few hours... I really hope he's okay... But I think I have enough herbs to cover it..."

[8:23 PM] != Midas: I knew it. Mars thought. "Ok then if that's the...." Mars stuck his hand into his robes "Oh..." Mars continued to ruffle his hand through his robes for a short while "Hmmmm.... It seems I've misplaced one of my tomes. Oh, Kiera, do me a favor, please check the bedroom. I searched in there and I'm sure I had the tome when I was searching, don't come down until I say I've found it or I tell you otherwise please, I don't want to lose something this valuable because we didn't double check it." Mars turned towards Fia "I am terribly sorry, but it looks like we won't be able to escort you back to your village unless you wait for us to finish looking around. I can't ask you to help me look, after all, I'm the one supposed to be helping you. Please stick around whilst we search for this book, if you would." Mars turned towards Sally "Sally, would you mind helping me check around the entrance to the house? I could have dropped it whilst I searched down here after checking the bedroom." Mars started walking towards the entrance, and kneeled down on the ground, searching as he waited for either of his friends to answer to his requests.

[8:39 PM] Nerf: You are really determined to do this your way, aren't you? Ugh...fine, I'll try it. "What do you mean you lost your tome!" She suddenly yelled faking an outburst as she played along with Mars's lie. "Again? How many times have I told you to be careful where you place your stuff! Aghh...you are unbelievable!" "I...I am terrible sorry," Sally spoke to Fia returning to a calmer, kind voice. "I know you are worried about your son, but I can't let you go alone when it's so dangerous. I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you on the way home." As she spoke, the branded woman placed a hand over her hearth, pretending to be terribly ashamed of how she was making Fia have to wait for them. "I...I'll go look downstairs."(edited)

[8:39 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Oh, how noble, Marcellus and Sally, but, uh, I never asked for an escort -- I'll be fine, I promise," she tilted her head and smiled gently, "But, uh, I guess I do have a moment to spare, uh, looking for your book. I'll, uhm, come downstairs and help you both," answered Fia, following them down the stairs without giving Mars or Sally a chance to object.(edited)

[8:53 PM] != Midas: Mars turned towards Fia "Oh please, I told you to call me Mars." he turned back towards Sally "It's a book, these robes aren't meant to carry more than 2 or 3 relatively small items at a time, holding on to 4 is more than what these things were made for." Mars seemed to be making an effort to calm down the false argument. Mars then turned back towards Fia "Oh please, you live a couple towns over, as you said, and I can't imagine that's a short walk. Considering that this town is likely to be hit a second time, I doubt that you'd want to leave the borders of any town without an escort. Your son is relying on you to get home safe and promptly. So please, allow us to help you. Besides, the tome isn't so small that it would simply vanish like a doll or a scrapbook would."

[9:03 PM] Nerf: "Yeah, yeah, you always say that," she brushed him off, determined not to lose her imaginary fight with Mars. "That still doesn't excuse your carelesness." "So, Fia, what is your son's name?" She cheerfully asked as she pretended to search for the tome. "How old is he? Does he have any hobbies? A favourite toy?" Sally bombarded the woman with questions, paying attention if she hesitated to think an answer for any of them. "What about the father? Or is that too personal of a question?"

[9:07 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera watched. It was almost funny to her, seeing Sally asking so many questions, just like Himaya did with Kiera a while back. How would Sally react if she found out... "Heh," she managed while trying to seem inconspicuous. She proceeded to gently sway back and forth.

[9:08 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Wow, you're uh, really curious, aren't you?" asked Fia, before adding on, "Well, his name is Joseph, but he's a little to young to have many hobbies... he likes to scribble drawings a lot, I, uh, guess; they're pretty cute. He used to love my Dolly here, but he's kinda outgrown that now. As for the father... well, he's off, uh, working in, uh, Alaros." Her speech slowed as she went down the list of questions to answer. She started looking through a little bit of the dust, but clearly was trying not to get dirty.(edited)

[9:15 PM] != Midas: This was where Mars fully understood Sally's method. He still would've prefered to catch her in a lie, but this was certainally good enough for him. Once they had finally reached the bottom of the stairs, Mars jogged towards the door, intent on getting there before anyone else who wasn't sprinting could. As he reached the door, he looked outside, just checking to make absolutely sure he hadn't actually dropped something on the way in. From there, he proceeded to kneel down, and said "I'll check over here, either of you 2 can check around the rest of the room, I could've dropped this kind of book anywhere, but hopefully it will pop out." Mars began to search for his fictional missing book, making sure to never stray far from the door.

[9:22 PM] Nerf: "Alaros! Don't you say!! I'm also from Alaros!" She lied to the woman's face. "What is he working as? Oh, oh, and where is he staying? The capital? Or somewhere else?" Now fully commited to her fake enthusiasm, Sally continued asking questions in such a cheerful way that made it hard not to answer them without being rude.

[9:27 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "You really do have a lot of questions, Sally. I'm, uh, glad you're interested and all, but you're asking for a lot from a woman you just met..." Fia pondered for a moment while idly searching a bit more, She's certainly gotten very excited very quickly..., then continued, "He's a teacher at a mage school... I wish I was a mage, too... and, uh, last time he wrote he was in a town a few miles from the capital..."

[9:32 PM] TastyChicken12: "Um, I figure those two are askin' a lot, but I'm curious o' somethin'. Can your son talk a lot or is it just babble?" She said Joseph's old enough to draw and too old for dolls, but is still too young to have hobbies. That prolly means that he's old enough to talk. And if the boy can't, somethin' ain't right about this woman's explanations. After all, Casey started talkin' to me when he was 7 months or so. Mostly just 'Mama', but... eh, back to the job, Kiera.(edited)

[9:34 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Uh, yeah, he can speak some. He's been learning many new words recently," Fia thought to herself for a second, then added, "Just the other day he was asking me what some new words meant... Its cute when he does that," Fia laughed softly.

[9:38 PM] TastyChicken12: "Hm, reckon that's a bit strange. Babies should start talkin' when they're, ah, about 6 months old. And start makin' out small statements around one year. But you said he's old enough to draw an' too old for dolls. He sounds like a bundle of fun," she laughed. The notion of a kid like that did amuse Kiera, but she did know that she was trying to get to the bottom of this.

[9:38 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera stiffened when she started babbling on about her knowledge of children. "Not... not that I would know," she said with a weak, toothy smile and a hand scratching the back of her head.

[9:40 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "You must know somehow, if you're, uh, so proficient at this," argued Fia, reversing the roles of interrogator and interrogated.

[9:43 PM] TastyChicken12: "Oh, I... well, I think kids are great! I used to babysit my cousins' kids. So I know a thing or two from, uh, practical experience." Kiera tried to avert her gaze with her lie. "Well, I reckon we shouldn't be keeping you for too much longer... right, Mars, and Sally?... right?"

[9:49 PM] != Midas: "Well, alright. But I did have at least 1 more thing that intrigued me about you Fia. What school of magic does your husband teach at? What's his name?" Mars spoke up after being asked "I'm always on the lookout for intelectual types to talk with, and a teacher at a magic school would definately be high up on that kind of list."

[9:51 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Uhm, his name is, er, Bob. He teaches a school for children who, uh, just learned they could use magic, or, uh, really want to. He's quite talented... Love him so much," she seemed happy to think about her wonderful husband.

[9:53 PM] != Midas: "Really? Interesting. Where does he teach? Hell, I'd love to help children become mages, it's one of the most prestigious titles one can hold for themselves. So please, do elaborate." Mars smiled, at this point, the smile was one that Sally could easily tell had been fake for a while.

[9:58 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Say, Marcellus... you sure do like smiling. Maybe your nickname could be 'Smiley' and Sally's could be 'Curious,'" Fia giggled, before answering the question, "He teaches at a small school in the capital, Pupils to Wizards. Their speciality is, uh, fire mages, I think. Its a nice, little place."

[10:16 PM] Nerf: "Heh. That's a funny one," she giggled in return. "As for you, I think your nickname could be...liar." Any enthusiasm in her voice now suddenly absent, the words came from Sally's mouth cold and harsh, if not slightly menacing. "Now...you say your husband specializes in fire magic?" The branded raised an eyebrow. "That's curious. You seemed to be quite surprised by my friend's fire magic just a few minutes earlier. Didn't you even make a comment on it? Truly, what a curious reaction for someone married to a talented fire mage." "But that's not all," she continued as her smirk grew wider. "You told us your son was at school. But as soon as we get what you were looking for he's suddenly sick and you have to leave? Do you have more than one son Fia? Or are you sending a sick child to school? What sort of school is it where they admit kids that are still learning to speak in the first place? I'd like to know where such a place exists," she added sarcastically. "And last, but not least...how could you get a peek at the general that ordered this if you ran away when you saw the troops in the distance? And he even was wearing a hood. Is your vision really that good? Or do you simply believe we are stupid?" A long, deep sigh preceded what would be the last words in her accusation: "I don't know what is the deal with you, Fia, but I'm done trying to find it by being nice. What is that you are trying so desperately to recover? Some sort of vital intelligence perhaps? Because if that's the case, I believe you are better off sharing it with us than with the man that destroyed this town."

[10:23 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Hmm," Fia again looked down solemnly, considering the situation at hand. After a few moments, the woman responded, confidently and sternly, "You seem to be overthinking this, Curious. I'm just a plain old woman collecting some of my belongings from her old home." She looked up at the building, then at Sally, "If this is how you plan to treat your client, I'll just be on my way... Oh, and by the way, Smiley over there and you yourself are the liars here... putting on that whole innocent and interested act after helping me find the stuff. Its just sad that you'd try to deceive a poor woman like me." Fia turned around and started making her way towards the door, gently shoving Mars out of the way (much stronger than you'd expect), and down the alley.(edited)

[10:32 PM] != Midas: After quickly regaining his feet, Mars ran after Fia, trying to pass her in the alleyway.

[10:34 PM] TastyChicken12: "Why's she runnin'? I think she's guilty as you say, Sally? Should we chase 'er with Mars?" she asked as she drew her axe and shield.

[10:36 PM] Nerf: "Yes!" The response came, of course, after Sally had already started sprinting towards the woman.

[10:38 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera began sprinting with Sally, holding her axe in a safe orientation.

[10:42 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Fia turned back to see what Sally, Kiera, and Mars are doing, "Oh. Weapons, huh? I can show you weapons." Her voice suddenly sounded much more serious and angry. BAM She tripped over some debris and fell to the ground, her three belongings flying elsewhere (only the portrait was in her reach, and she grabbed it quickly), but scrambled into her bag and pulled out a pitch black tome. The woman opened the tome to an unused page and looked as though she was preparing to launch a spell, "Attack and you're done for."(edited)

[10:58 PM] != Midas: "...You know..." Mars began "I thought, when I first saw you, I thought that something was wrong. Now, I'm the type of person to think that of everyone I've just met. I've been trying to improve on it, really, I have. Trusting people is something I'm going to have to do." Mars was focusing, trying to cast another spell without using a tome. "But when people like you come along it really sets me back on my whole 'Road to stop doubting people'. It's the most bittersweet feeling I've ever had to experience in my life." Mars kept focusing "Now, I love being right. I'm enough of a cocky asshole to simply adore being correct. But when it's about this kind of stuff... then I personally just feel bad." Mars had finally stalled enough to get a solid wind spell off, he swiped his hand downwards to attempt and cut the pages with a self-focused wind spell and...(edited)

[11:00 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The pages get cut right off! "What, no?! How could you... Ugh, you little brat!" she threw the now empty book at Mars and...

[11:01 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: It hits him right in the forehead! "Take that!" She started to dig through her bag in desperate hope of finding something special buried amongst the junk in the bag.

[11:01 PM] Nerf: In the meantime, Sally decided to listen to Fia's warning, at least momentaneously. Swiftly changing her course mid-race, she dived towards the scrapbook and attempted to snatch it and hide behind a mountain of debris before the woman could do anything strange.

[11:02 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Sally successfully obtains the scrapbook.

[11:03 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera ran towards to reinforce Mars. "How dare ya! I tried to trust ya, giving you the benefit of the doubt an' all! But if you're gonna try an' kill us, I'm not gonna hold back." With her shield forward, she tries to shield-bash Fia with the spike on her buckler.

[11:05 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: While Kiera does manage to bash Fia with the shield, the spike on the buckler just barely misses impaling the woman. This renders one arm somewhat useless. Fia puts out her leg to attempt to trip Kiera as she runs by after the bash.(edited)

[11:06 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: ...and Kiera trips and falls! Fia laughs at Kiera's blunder, and eventually manages to pull out something from her bag... some sort of potion. She immediately begins to try and take the cork off the bottle.

[11:07 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera tries to get up and pick up her axe.

[11:09 PM] Nerf: Sally quickly goes through the scrapbook pages, trying to catch anything suspicious on it. Upon seeing her comrade struggling, she briefly stops to throw a broken stone brick at Fia, aiming at the bottle in her hand. Without even turning around to see if she succeeds, she returns her attention to the book.

[11:11 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The brick hits the ground next to Fia.

[11:12 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The cork comes off the bottle, and, before drinking the potion inside, she throws it at Mars.

[11:12 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: It hits him but does literally nothing cause its a cork.

[11:12 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Meanwhile, Sally can't find anything fishy in the book at first, but a closer examination later may reveal something. On the surface, it just appears to be collectables and children's drawings and the like.(edited)

[11:13 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera gets up and tries to crush Fia with her axe.

[11:16 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Kiera hits Fia with the blunt side of the axe right on the shoulder not holding the potion. "Agh! God damnit! I'm done wasting my time with you brats!" Fia quickly swallows the entirety of the potion, throws the bottle at Mars (it hits him in the head cause of that sweet 10), and then she disappears, along with her bag and the picture. The scrapbook and Dolly remain with Mars, Sally, and Kiera.

[11:22 PM] != Midas: "She's getting awa-" SMASH Right as Mars had finally regained proper sight and hearing after being hit in the head by the book, the glass bottle the potion had been kept in hit him in the head. He swiftly fell to the ground with a Thunk.

[11:25 PM] Nerf: The dagger flew right past where Fia had been standing just a few seconds earlier, missing its target and landing on a broken piece of wood. Cursing to herself, Sally went to pick up Dolly, taking the chance to feel up if there was anything strange inside of the toy. Only after that, she went to check on her comrades's condition.

[11:27 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera notices that she had just disappeared and rubbed her eye to ensure she wasn't hallucinating. Standing up and dusting herself off, she approaches those two. "What... what happened? Did we win? I'm so... confused."

[11:29 PM] Nerf: "Afraid not," she admited to the fighter. "But maybe we can still find something useful. Go check up on Mr. Smiley, I'll go take a last look around the house," she finished in a dry, sarcastic tone.

[11:30 PM] TastyChicken12: "Mars, Mars, you okay?" Kiera takes her skin of water and splashes some on his hurt areas. "D-dude? Speak to me!"

[11:32 PM] != Midas: Mars was out cold, the falling backwards onto the floor was probably the part that really got him. He wasn't going to wake up for a while.

[11:33 PM] Nerf: Sally carefully inspects all rooms in the house, then tries to see if there's some sort of cellar under the debris.

[11:34 PM] TastyChicken12: "Sally, Sally?! Mars is knocked out. I gotta take him back to base! I'll... I'll need someone to heal him!" she said with uncharacteristic urgency.

[11:35 PM] Nerf: Sally empties a vulnerary over Mars's face, soaking his shirt wet.

[11:38 PM] != Midas: Mars' bloody nose and the marks on the back of his head vanished, he was going to be fine, but he probably isn't waking up today.

[11:39 PM] TastyChicken12: Kiera tries to carry him back to camp, while grumping and gritting her teeth. She was used to carrying people, just, not any people above the age of one year.

[11:45 PM] Nerf: Sally carries the scrapbook and Dolly back to camp, then briefly informs the Pack about all what happened, making sure to give a detailed description of Fia to everyone.
