Interview RP: Millie, the Beorc Myrmidon

Cast: Saarva (Sky) and Millie (Cyber)

[8:16 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: RP Interview: Millie @cybershadowX === Saarva had been doing some paperwork, but somewhere along the lines, his head fell forward and rested itself on his desk. He still had his feather quill pen gripped in his hand, and surprisingly it hadn't moved or smudged where he was writing on the paper. If he his wasn't on the desk and his eyes were closed, it'd look like he was just giving a pause, deep in thought to what he should write down. Perhaps he should've went to bed earlier the night before, but this is how it had happened. Unbeknownst to the Dragon, his next interview was starting in roughly 20 minutes.
[8:19 PM] cybershadowX: The sun had already sat as Millie chewed thoughtfully on her hair thoughtfully. She stood on the doorstep to Saarva’s office, but didn’t knock out of nervousness. Should she have brought a resume? The flier didn’t say anything about a resume. I hope they’re still recruiting. The flier did say they were still looking but maybe they already got what they needed. Realizing she was chewing in her hair she quickly took it out and curled it behind her ear, hoping no one noticed. She took one last glance into her reflection in the office window before knocking. Here goes… KNOCK KNOCK “Hello? Anyone there?”
[8:25 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: Saarva scrambled as his eyes shot open. "(Dragon dung!)" he muttered to himself angrily in Pallo. "(Did I miss an interview?)" he questioned out loud as he glanced at his watch. Ah, no, there's not another interview until tomorrow, good. "(Nepholomew, is that you? Has new information arrived?)" he asked loudly as he sat up and straightened himself up. "(Just come on in and tell me, youngster, I shouldn't have to remind you so much that you don't have to knock. As long as there's no interviews, my door's always open to you fellows,)" he said to who he thought was on the other side of the door. However, any of this would only make sense if the person knew Pallo, otherwise, it'd sound like gibberish.
[8:32 PM] cybershadowX: “Kbmeliljbt, fp qexq vlr? Exp kbt fkclojxqflk xoofsba?” Millie tilted her head as she tried to understand the odd language. It definitely wasn’t Millo. Pallo? She learned a bit of Pallo back home but that was ages ago. “Grpq zljb lk fk xka qbii jb, vlrkdpqbo, F pelriak'q exsb ql objfka vlr pl jrze qexq vlr alk'q exsb ql hklzh. Xp ilkd xp qebob'p kl fkqbosfbtp, jv allo'p xitxvp lmbk ql vlr cbiiltp.” Wait does he even know that I’m here for the interview?Wait did I miss my interview…? Millie shook her head frantically and hoped she didn’t miss it. She quickly checked her stopwatch before putting it back in her left jacket pocket. Maybe she should just go in. “Umm… I’m, uh, here for the interview?” She said as she cautiously opened the office door.
[8:40 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: "(Nepholomew, come on now...)" he said as he turned his gaze towards the openning door. The sudden Millo coming from a rather feminine voice shocked him. But her mentioning an interview shocked him even more. He rose from his seat and walked towards the door, motioning for her to come right in. "Kyria above, I'm terribly sorry, miss! I uh, I thought you were someone else, but you clearly aren't Nepholomew, are you? And you said you're here for an interview you say? Please, please, come right on in." he said as he was both confused and embarrassed. "I'm afraid I would've been more ready if I known you were coming," he explained with some blushy cheeks, "But I simply had not a clue... Did you send in a resume and have Nepholomew schedule an interview? Or perhaps it was the new one, that might explain it... What's your name?" he asked. Perhaps that could help.(edited)
[8:50 PM] cybershadowX: “Nepholo...mew?” Millie tilted her head quizzically but didn’t have time to think beyond that as a large dragon Laguz hurriedly ushered her inside the office. She had never met one before and marveled at the dragon wings attached to his back. I guess it would be a dragon considering issue with the… Her thoughts were interrupted as what she supposed was Saarva said, “But I simply had not a clue... Did you send in a resume and have Nepholomew schedule an interview?” Uh oh… Millie had not submitted a resume or knew to talk to that Nepholomew person. Was she supposed to? She looked around for the flier but obviously there wouldn't be any. She flushed in embarrassment as she tried to explain. “Ah! I-I-I didn’t know I was supposed to turn in a resume or talk to Nefu-Nepholomew before coming I’m so sorry!” She wanted to flail around and cover her face but held herself back. Since she was here she might as well get it over with. “A-anyways my name is Milaya. You’re Saarva right? I’m here to interview for the position on the investigation team.” You idiot you already said you were here for the interviewwwwwwwwwww! Milaya quietly screamed in her head and hoped she wasn’t butchering the conversation any further.
[9:10 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: "Oh, don't worry yourself, young lady. We're always looking for new recruits and such. I just wasn't as prepared as I'd like to be. Hence why these things are usually scheduled in advance. However, I must commend you for knowing where to find me," he admitted with a chuckle. "I wasn't doing anything more important than an interview, so it's no trouble," he continued, "While you're here, we might as well just go along with it. I'd hate to have you come back another time when now is just as good. Time is of the essense as they say!" he said as he went back to his office chair and put away the papers he was working on. He got out one of the forms and an extra sheet of paper for notes as he always did. "You can take a seat where you'd like, miss. You said Milaya, correct? How do you spell that?" he asked as he dipped his pen in the inkwell and began writing notes, intending to switch back to the form once he got the reply. The crate on the opposite side of the desk had a cloth draped over it, like it was meant to be sat upon. It seemed to look fairly new. Good at locating places :white_check_mark: Polite and apologetic :white_check_mark: No resume or form, though :negative_squared_cross_mark:(edited)
[9:14 PM] cybershadowX: Millie quickly composed herself and sat down on the clothed crate that Saarva pointed to. Thankfully he seemed to be a nice guy so she shouldn’t worry too much. “Milaya Bismark. M-I-L-A-Y-A B-I-S-M-A-R-K” She slowly spelled out her full name as Saarva quickly jotted down some notes. She fiddled with her watch in her pocket and looked down at the crate. Was it just a chair or did he have something inside of it?(edited)
[9:18 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: "Alright, wonderful. It's nice to meet you, Milaya. It's a lovely name," he said with a smile, "So, besides the interview, what exactly brings you in here? Any other reason to be interviewed you'd like me to know about?" he questioned as he readied his pen. "There's no right or wrong answers, so don't worry yourself," he reassured. She seemed like the type to get worried and nervous, from what he could already tell. Nervous :negative_squared_cross_mark: Happy to follow instructions, makes the process smoother :white_check_mark:
[9:27 PM] cybershadowX: Ok so the usual interview kind of questions Millie absentmindedly twirled her hair around her finger as she answered, “I saw the flier that you were recruiting and I’m interested in joining the investigation squad. I’ve heard about the naval force stationed near the Money Tree and I was wondering why they were there. She paused for a moment, and then continued. “I also thought it would be good for me to have a change of pace. I’m a pretty skilled swordsman and I think I could be useful to the team.” By now Millie had calmed down and was able to focus on talking normally. Although she had actually seen the first flier from a month ago she didn’t want to reveal that she’d been so worried she trained a whole month before applying.
[9:31 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: Confidence :white_check_mark: Wants to help :white_check_mark: Sympathetic :white_check_mark: Change of pace :grey_question: "My my, aren't we a confident one?" he asked with a smile, a smile one might have a joke, or perhaps a smile would have when they are proud. "No matter your background, I like to think anyone has potential," he explained trying to be as impartial as he could help himself to be, "but speaking of skills, how many others might you have? And how would you think they would help us and be useful to the investigation and potential party members?"(edited)
[9:39 PM] cybershadowX: Millie leaned forwards and propped her elbows on her knees. Despite the blocky shape the crate actually was decently comfortable. “Well besides blade work I’m also capable of fishing and sailing. I have been on large ships before but I’m a bit more comfortable with smaller craft. I also know how to forge basic spellblades but I’m not sure how useful that would be on the field. I can also cook pretty well, especially breakfast.” As soon as she mentioned breakfast her stomach gave a slight grumble. Drat! I forgot dinner during training again. “If you’re team is going to be doing a lot of sailing I can also help with that.” She paused before remembering, “Oh yea, I can play the violin if you guys like music!”
[9:45 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: Fishing and cooking :white_check_mark: Blade work: both basic forging and fighting :white_check_mark: Sailing and boat experience :white_check_mark: Violin :white_check_mark: Jack of all trades :grey_question: :white_check_mark: "By Kyria, is there anything you can't do?" Saarva joked as he wrote down everything as she said it. "Oh, if you're hungry you can help yourself to some candy I have by the door. Normally, I offer them on the way out, but your stomach asked politely," he said a bit lightheartedly as he gestured to where they were before continuing. "You mentioned having a change of pace earlier, did you not? Would you mind telling me more about that? Perhaps where you're from or what you do for a living?"(edited)
[10:00 PM] cybershadowX: Now that I think about it I wish I learned Pallo in when I was still in school. "Oh, if you're hungry you can help yourself to some candy I have by the door.” She looked at the candy bowl that Saarva mentioned and quickly took a piece. “Thanks!” She unwrapped it and popped the candy in her mouth before answering the question. “Well my current job as a spellblade forger is fairly monotonous right now. I get paid perfectly fine but it’s honestly quite boring. As for where I’m from…” Actually I probably shouldn’t mention Rettati just in case. “I live a bit south of Pachima. It’s a nice town but it’s a little ways away. I used to live closer to the coast when I was younger.” This candy is quite good. “Honestly I can’t imagine myself being a forger forever. I think this job opportunity would be a great way for me to learn more about myself and maybe even meet other people.”(edited)
[10:07 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: Wants to explore Laqueos and its people :white_check_mark: "Lovely, I believe that's all I need! However I would like to ask a few additional questions if that's alright..." he asked, trying to be careful with his wordings at least. He wasn't sure what she was hiding. He took a pause before continuing, trying to think of the best way possible to say it. "...you mentioned earlier that you got a flier to come, however... I sent those fliers out quite a bit ago. We're still preparing the second batch of fliers and haven't sent those out just yet. And if you live fairly close to Pachima, I'm not quite sure why you'd wait so long if you wanted to help out with the investigation?" He didn't want to play it off as catching her in a lie or falsehood, because he wanted to seem like a nice guy and not attack her. He played it off as genuine curiosity. "Could you give me some insight?" She seemed like a sweet girl, so he wasn't sure if she was lying, or just avoiding something altogether. But it was his job to find out.(edited)
[10:18 PM] cybershadowX: I guess it is a bit weird… Millie sighed but continued anyway. “Well...I uh…” So embarrassing aaaaaaaaaa “I didn’t think I was ready to join when I first saw the flier so I thought I would take some time to train before applying.” Saarva seemed pretty perceptive. She would have to be much more careful with her words. “I also couldn’t quit my spellblade forging job instantly since I had to give my boss a 2 weeks notice so I could finish up the projects.” The last part was partially true but also lacked other details. She hoped that Saarva wouldn’t press too far.(edited)
[10:25 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: Anxious, yet was confident earlier :grey_question: Responsible :white_check_mark: Determined and bold :white_check_mark: "Ah, I see... So you have high hopes of being recruited do you? That's pretty bold of you to quit your job at least," commented the Dragon Laguz "Well, I suppose that wraps up everything. It was nice meeting you," he said with an outstretched hand for a handshake. "And please do stick around in the area. I'll have Nepholomew file your information I filled out for you so it's at least on record. And if you're picked for the investigation, your next destination will be given to you. Thanks again. And if you'd like some more candy on the way out, feel free to help yourself," he explained his spiel. "...oh, I almost forgot," he added, "how was the candy?"
[10:29 PM] cybershadowX: Milaya accepted the handshake firmly. Her father always said that a handshake could tell a lot about a person. “Thank you, it was a pleasure to meet you.” She quickly checked to make sure she didn’t forget anything else. “Oh, the candy was pretty good. Thanks for letting me take a second!” She waved and quickly nabbed a second piece of candy before heading out the door. Wait how will he know where to find me if he doesn’t know where I’m lodging…
[10:35 PM] Best Busy Birb (Yune) | Sky: "Wonderful," he said with a very wide smile, "glad you enjoyed it!" "We'll find you and let you know our decision when the time comes, so don't worry," he added before she left, "Thanks again!" "(Hopefully I didn't say anything too worrisome... I think I did pretty good for having no sleep. Whew, no more staying up all night playing Scribblety-Words. Even if it was nice to relax after everything that's happened, I can't overdo it again. People rely on me... But, at least she enjoyed the candy, that helps me feel less guilty about things...)" he muttered to himself with a smile that he couldn't wipe away if he tried. ===End Interview RP===(edited)
