[4:39 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: === Start RP === The rain? Kiera thought as the droplets came down. It had felt like ages since she had experienced a steady downpour like it, with the arid lands of her home village experiencing a scorching drought. Perhaps it was her being simple minded, but Kiera felt elated from the rainstorm. She was enjoying it from the mess hall, daydreaming about a saving rainstorm sweeping across Manx's lands...

[6:10 PM] Nerf: Such enthusiasm for the rain was certainly not shared by the next person that arrived to the mess hall. Caught by the downpour while out on the open, Sally hadn't managed to find a place of cover in time, and as a result her clothes were now soaked. After taking a deep breath, she extended her cape over a nearby table and removed her boots, before proceeding to squeeze the water out of her hair. Only then she noticed the presence of Kiera. "Oh, hi there." She greeted the fighter with a smile that seemed a bit forced given her current situation. "Seems like today is not my lucky day, uh?"

[6:12 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Oh? What's got ya down, then?" Kiera inquired.

[6:18 PM] Nerf: "Besides being soaked you mean?" She asked with a laugh. "Oh, not much. Just got a whole country after my head, but other than that you could say I'm doing fine, I guess." Once she was done with her hair, she started squeezing the bottom of her shirt.

[6:19 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Eh... I guess," she said, not really sure what to make of the whole... being at war?

[6:25 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Mostly to grab a little to eat, but I honestly wouldn't mind playin' in the rain a bit," she laughed.

[6:31 PM] Nerf: "Well, you better do it soon if that's the case. It's not gonna rain forever." As for me, I've had more than enough of this stupid rain.

[6:33 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I might, but I'm gonna guess that my weapons and armor'll rust out there..."

[6:42 PM] Nerf: She calls that an armor? "Well, why would you bring your equipment under then rain? You do have other clothes, don't you?"

[6:45 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Yeah, why wouldn't I? It's just been forever since my clothes got wet, 'cause my hometown's been havin' a drought for... oh, Kyria knows how long."

[7:11 PM] Nerf: "Hmm, you are from Ramalia, I remember that. I imagine it doesn't rain very often in there," she pointed out bluntly. "But this isn't your hometown. If you want to play under the rain you should change into something that won't get rusted."

[7:13 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Eh, sure. Say, you said you were from... um... Naxos? How's it like there? Do Beorc and Laguz live there, too?"

[7:18 PM] Nerf: "Of course they do! Beorc and Fox Laguz have been in conflict for a while now. How could you have never heard about the war?" Has this girl been living under a rock or what?

[7:23 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Eh, I ain't've heard of it. Didn't even know Beorc and Laguz went to war these days!"

[7:28 PM] Nerf: "Well, I don't think them being Laguz has anything to do with it," she explained in a patient tone, as if she was talking to a child. "This is just how Naxos operates: the strong raise to the top, and the weak are culled. If the other neighbouring countries were an easier target, I'm sure they would also have been invaded by now."

[7:30 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Oh. I know nothin' of that. Old Beorc-Laguz wars I just thought were a thing of the past. Sounds... awful."

[7:32 PM] Nerf: "Eh, it's not as bad as it sounds," she shrugged off. "Plenty of Laguz live in the country, even despite the war. Not that I would claim Naxos is the most accepting of societies, in any case..."

[7:36 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I see... back home, Beorc like me are not very common. We've never had issues with our queen, and the queen never bothers us. It's nice."

[7:46 PM] Nerf: Sounds to me like she barely even acknowledges their existance... "Well, I don't see why she would. She already rules over the land, after all. Besides, what would the Wolf Queen have to gain by messing with a small Beorc community?"

[7:50 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: Kiera shrugged. "I dunno. But we got everythin' to gain by bein' loyal to Queen Malika."

[7:56 PM] Nerf: "You seem to admire her quite a bit. Have you met the queen before?"

[7:57 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Nah."(edited)

[8:10 PM] Nerf: And there you have it. "Ah, I see. So I take it she's never visited your village?"

[8:17 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Laguz don't often come to Manx. Sometimes, we have dudes and chicks move out to the other regions to trade for stuff... but otherwise... nah."

[8:19 PM] Nerf: "Hmm, so what is that you have to gain by being loyal to the queen then? It doesn't seem like you interact much with the Wolf tribes, even if you are part of the same country."

[8:25 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "She don't bother us. Guess that's the plus. I dunno, I always answered to the village elders, who always said, 'Kiera you hafta listen to the queen' or somethin'. The elders were nice..."

[9:38 PM] Nerf: "Doesn't sound like there was much to listen to the way you put it."

[9:39 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "N-no! The elders kept our village together," she rebutted.

[9:48 PM] Nerf: "Hmm?" She looked confused for a second. "Oh, no, I meant the queen. You said the elders told you to listen to her, but it doesn't seem like she did much to acknowledge your existence. As far as I can tell, she seems to have been a queen to you only in name."

[9:49 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I mean I guess? The elders probably don't want anyone to be causin' trouble as all. Seems smart to me that they'd teach kids that."

[9:52 PM] Nerf: Maybe they should have spent some of that time teaching you about the rest of the world... "Err...if you say so. Do these elders rule your village?"(edited)

[10:09 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Yep, sure did," Kiera noted with a smile.

[10:45 PM] Nerf: "You seem to have a lot of respect for them. Say...did they approve of you leaving the village? Don't take offense to this, but it doesn't seem like your people interacted with the rest of the world very often."

[10:46 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "They sure did. An awful lot of us young men and women left when the drought got too bad, so we could get money from mercenary work. Hurt the farmers awful bad."

[10:54 PM] Nerf: "Your people were starving? That's awful! So you left in hopes of finding a better future?" I've never heard Himaya mention anything about this. Did the drought only affect her tribe then?(edited)

[11:03 PM] Nerf: "Oh." She paused for a second before asking: "Do you keep in touch with them? I'd imagine they'd be sick worried about you."

[11:04 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I try to," she somewhat lied.

[11:08 PM] Nerf: "You try to?" She retorted. "Kiera, this is a yes or no question. Am I correct in assuming you don't?"

[11:08 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I do," she fully lied.

[11:15 PM] Nerf: "Ah, my apologies for jumping to conclusions then. So, how do you do it? As far as I remember you don't know how to read. Is someone in the company helping you write letters?"

[11:17 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: I musta told her that I can't read. "W-what? Nah, I can write. Did I say I couldn't?"

[11:24 PM] Nerf: "Kiera." Sally spoke in a slightly harsher tone, as if a mother scolding her child. "When we first met you were lost because you couldn't read the directions in a letter. I had to read them for you. Do you really think I'm buying this story?"

[11:25 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Alright, alright! I lied. I don't feel good about admitting the fact that I can't read. Bad enough I don't talk good..."

[11:33 PM] Nerf: "I don't think it's something to be ashamed about. Plenty of people don't know how to read," she spoke now in a kinder tone. "Sorry for pushing you so much, in any case. It's a bad habit of mine, I can't stand people trying to hide things from me. "Leaving that aside, if you need help writing a letter, you only need to ask. There are plenty of people here that know how to read and write. Me, for example..."

[11:35 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I'll find someone soon... I just need to organize my thoughts." Maybe Suleiman can help me...

[11:37 PM] Nerf: "Fine, fine, I get it," she laughed. "You don't feel comfortable having me write your letters. I can understand that, so don't worry about it."

[11:39 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "How couldja tell?"

[11:46 PM] Nerf: "Knowing stuff is my job, you could say. And I consider myself very good at it," she sarcastically replied. How could I tell? Please. Everyone would notice being turned down like that.

[11:55 PM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "I thought so, since you said you were headin' somewhere the last time we talked."

[12:00 AM] Nerf: Maybe she is more perceptive than she seems after all... "Ah, that time? Yeah, I guess I was. Didn't find much of use, in any case."

[12:04 AM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Oh. Okie then."

[12:06 AM] Nerf: "Hmm, looks like it stopped raining." Sally pointed out as she looked outside. "If you'l excuse me, I'll go get some change clothes now that I can."

[12:08 AM] TC12 [Hyped for Christmas!]: "Sure," she responded, but was internally disappointed at the ceasing of the rains.

[12:09 AM] Nerf: "Alright. See ya." Grabbing her cape and her boots once again, the criminal abandoned the mess hall.
