"Sweet Tooth"

[4:08 PM] NethaEmerald: As sunset was just about to turn into night, Nyrandisa was sitting down somewhere, reading a book. It was a book on cooking ettiquette for other races, like Beorc and Laguz. She had barely just scratched the surface in understanding how they are, and she was almost done with the book the first time through. She knew she'd have to read it multiple times to fully comprehend it's contents, but that was okay. She had plenty of time to read it and master it's lessons. Admittedly, she did want to read something less dry and more practical, since cooking kind of required you to actually experiment with it live rather than reading it in a book, but that wasn't an option for her right now, given how she didn't want to waste any resources that were needed by someone else. Eventually, she set the book down and closed her eyes, taking time to mentally reflect on the concepts she just read, seeing if she could make good sense out of any of it. Sadly, she wasn't having much luck, but she was doing her best.

[4:11 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The Pack's chief and leader, Zain, found himself passing by Nyrnadisa on one of his evening strolls. Generally, he would pay literally zero mind to those along his path, but the Jera had caught his attention, as he hasn't talked to the group's newest member yet. The wolf strayed from his original path to address Nyrandisa, "Hey, you're one of the new guys to our party, yeah?"\

[4:16 PM] NethaEmerald: When a sudden voice broke out of seeming nowhere, Nyra jumped a little at it, clutching her book as if it were some kind of weapon. When she realized who it was, she slowly lowered the book. She had heard that there was some Wolf Laguz that would be kind of leading their group, and her intuition led her to believe that it was this character in front of her. She nodded to Zain and said "Indeed I am. I assume you're running some of the show here?" She wanted to be sure before she did anything else.

[4:21 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain nodded in response, "Yeah, but don't be so scared... I'm not like the bad wolves in the stories, I promise," he chuckled, though it was probably hard to differntiate it as a lighthearted laugh. "Saarva didn't tell me much about you. What you doin' in a group like ours? Something tells me you're not the explory type."

[4:26 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyrandisa slowly got to her feet as Zain spoke. When the conversation was flipped to talk about herself, she cleared her throat and responded "I might not be the 'explory' type, but i've been to numerous places before here. As for why i'm here? For the same reason as you; solve this mystery on that attack." She should probably tell him that she was banished from Neraida, but that was something he might already know if Saavra sent any information in regards to that to this group before she came. "As for what I can do?" She started without being asked. "I am a pretty capable cook, alchemist, and herbalist. I also have magic up my sleeve, both damaging and supportive."

[4:32 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain shrugged, "To be honest with you, I'm mostly just here cause of the orders instead of actual interest... can't deny Malika's orders, afterall." The wolf sat down on the grass next to Nyrandisa so he didn't have to look down at her, and it was more comfortable anyway. "You cook? What's the food like where you're from?"

[4:36 PM] NethaEmerald: "Very sweet. Probably sickeningly sweet to someone like you." Nyra was quick to come back with when the cooking from her home was brought into question. "Just dump as much sweet stuff in it as you can, make sure it's edible, like greens, and that's the gist of it. At least, the basic gist. It's a little more complicated sometimes, but i'm sure you get the idea. If you want a tiny sample, I have some honey candy I made." She continued on about as she sat back down, the book in her lap, her antenna twitching, and wings lightly swaying.

[4:49 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "Gimme some, I gotta try it now," Zain responded, somewhat demandingly but not overly so. He put his hand out to accept it.

[4:50 PM] NethaEmerald: Nyra pulled out a small pouch from a pocket inside her robes. In the pouch was the square, relatively flat pieces of candy. She didn't have many left after Suileman took so many of them, but more could always be made. She gently took one in her hand and put it into his. She then closed the puch up and stored it back where it belonged. She knew this was going to be a good reaction from him, since the candy was extremely sweet.(edited)

[5:01 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain put the candy into his mouth rather quickly and brashly without taking much time to look at it. At first he squinted and scrunched up a little because of the pure sweetness of the candy, but it quickly faded away as he chewed on it (his canine teeth weren't really made for this, and it ended up sticking a lot), and eventually managed to swallow most of the candy. His ears went down and he smiled wide, "Super sweet... more, uh, please?" Its been a while since Zain had something particularly sweet, and like many Beorc and canines, it is hard to get over a want for sweets.

[5:04 PM] NethaEmerald: When he ate the candy, his reaction wasn't at all what she had expected. He thought it was good? With a giggle, Nyra said "Eh, why not? I might be low, but I can always make more." As she pulled out the punch again and opened it for him. Only three pieces remained in the bag, and she felt he was going to take all three of the remaining pieces.

[5:11 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: And he did... and he ate them all at once. Now, there's two problems with this. Firstly, it would and and proved to be very hard to chew all at once, and secondly, too much honey is not exactly kind on a canine's stomach. But he didn't really realize that. As he chewed on the candy, he managed to say something that sounded vaguely like, "Thanks." His expression remained the same as before, however.

[5:13 PM] NethaEmerald: When he struggled to so much as speak, Nyra laughed. "Next time, slow down, wolf boy. We'll need to find some water so we can help you clear your throat out."

[5:20 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: His expression turned a little visibly annoyed at the laughing, but he nodded.

[5:22 PM] NethaEmerald: She took a hold of his arm and dragged him to where she knew water was: a river. Once at the river, she said "I hope this won't make you sick; drinking river water."

[5:26 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain gently pushed himself away from Nyrandisa when they arrived at the river, and he shifted into his wolf form, making it easier and safer to drink from the stream in front of them. The Laguz lapped up some water from the creek and turned back around to Nyra, reluctantly making a bit of a wolf smile.

[5:30 PM] NethaEmerald: "Your throat all cleared?" She asked, a little concerned now. "I didn't mean to try and hurt you. You just ate it too darn fast." She added on, acting a little more defensively now. She didn't want to be sent packing so soon into this journey with the group.

[5:37 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: The wolf barked, then nodded from where he sat.

[5:41 PM] NethaEmerald: "Uh... i'll take that as a yes." Nyrandisa responded. She wasn't very good at reading the emotions of animals. If they were Laguz in human form, that was far easier. Eventually, she came a little closer and exaimined his wolf form a little more. She figured she could at least study his animal form so she wouldn't mistake him for an enemy on the battlefield. She was almost tempted to pet him, but decided against it, as that might be seen completely different than how petting a normal dog would be.

[5:46 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain didn't respond to the advance, and instead just looked around at the environment around then. (Maybe I'll just spend the night out here), he thought.(edited)

[5:52 PM] NethaEmerald: She was looking at Zain, puzzled. What was going through his head? She didn't know. One way to find out was questioning. "Do you want to head back?" She asked, trying to probe to see what he wanted.

[6:03 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: He shook his head, and patted his paw on the ground as if to say, 'I'll stay here.'

[6:06 PM] NethaEmerald: "So you want to stay? Well, good wolf, I guess? Anyways, i'm going to head back. I want to continue my studies." She responded to Zain with, giving a small wave as she lightly fluttered away and back to where she had orignally gone. "Wonderful. Now I need to make more candy..." She thought to herself with a small sigh when she felt she was far enough away from Zain.

[6:08 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Zain went on the explore the area a bit, then sleep. (That was good candy... but my stomach kinda hurts.)
