Interview RP: Himaya, the Branded Chaser

Cast: Saarva (Mappy) & Himaya (Sky)

[9:30 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Extremely Late Interview RP: Himaya "Another one? I thought I was done with this!" Saarva slammed some papers down onto the desk, then sighed. "Well, hopefully this last one won't take too long," the dragon murmured to himself, awaiting the applicant's arrival.

[9:36 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: Himaya ran to the place where a nice lady had directed him. He had no idea where he was going and he got lost going off just Zain's directions alone. Panting, he stops outside the door and rests for a few seconds to catch his breath. Then, he confidently opens the door in front of him and exclaims very casually: "Saarva Saarva," Himaya said, annunciating the rolled r's, "my dragon friend, how're ya doin'? Sorry to keep ya waitin', but I'm here~" Unbeknownst to Saarva, Himaya had said this many times to the wrong people after getting lost a few times. He wanted to arrive early, but getting lost made him late to being early, making him just barely on time. He hoped this was actually the right place this time.(edited)

[9:50 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "I think you might be in the wrong place. I expect applicants to be much more... professional, so I feel that you may have stumbled in the wrong place. However, you know my name, so perhaps not. You are...?" He pulled out the feather from the jar of ink and tidied up the papers in front of him to start taking notes.

[9:53 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Sorry, sorry. But I assure you I'm in the right place. It seems like I knew your name after all" he said with a playful wink. Himaya internally fistbumped himself in victory. He found him! "I'm Himaya, from Maulu in Ramalia." he said with a smile, and an outward-stretched hand, ready for a nice handshake.

[9:59 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Saarva accepted the handshake, "So you're from the same place as that Zain fellow." "Well, sit down on that crate there and we'll get started with the interview," the dragon motioned to the seat on the opposite side of the table from him.

[10:03 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Uh huh, sure am! If I remember correctly, he gets an exemption from an interview for being sent by Malika herself. But I'm not that special, so here I am." He said with a smile, now taking a seat on the crate. "Oh, and quick question before we start: it's safe in here right? No one spying or interupting us?" Himaya asked a bit cryptically.

[10:45 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "I'm not sure why you're concerned about that. Please explain, if you don't mind," responded Saarva, somewhat concerned with Himaya's question. Suspicious Paranoid Excited

[10:47 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Er well, I'm sorry but I can't really explain if you don't answer the question. It's... rather important. But, it's just us, right? No one to overhear or oversee anything?" Himaya tried his best to explain the situation as best he could, but he had to be certain.

[10:49 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "You're acting very suspiciously, Himaya. Almost as if you have something to hide. I can assure you no one is watching us, but I am now very concerned with your paranoia regarding this, so please explain. You will be rejected if you don't," he tried not to sound threatening, but this was actually very important, so he was honest with the kid.

[11:17 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Sorry, but as a Laguz, and a dragon no less, I feel safe around you. But my Papa told me some people aren't always as nice. I didn't want to be judged by others. So... just promise to keep things on the down low, alright?" Himaya closes his eyes and breathes deeply before softly whistling a tune to himself. After a few seconds of silence, it seems nothing happened. Then a pair of brown ears with white tips appear atop his head, accompanied by a matching bushy tail. He opened his eyes slowly, lookings like sustaining whatever that was had tired him. "Imma... rather a unique branded. I carry both wolf and heron blood. I felt it may be important for someone important to know. Malika and the people of Maulu know o' me, but no one else. They always treated me so nicely, but I can't ever be too sure of others, as I've never really traveled very far up until now. I've heard that Dragons are a different story, but I must kindly ask again that this isn't mentioned elsewhere. Sorry actin' weird about it, but I just had to be sure, y'know?"

[8:37 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "You seem somewhat paranoid in this view about the people here. Do you think this is a behavior you can get over, or do you see it persisting throughout the exploration, Himaya?" asked Saarva, taking some notes on the thief's lengthy responses. "In addition, how do you make your ears magically appear like that?" Mysterious

[2:30 AM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: Himaya responded to his first question: "Nah, I don't see myself as paranoid. I just... want to ensure my safety. I want to get to get a read on things before revealing what I really am. I've never really left Ramalia before, so I s'pose I'm just overly cautious. I don't see it getting in the way any. It was only an issue because I thought you'd need to know, but I'm not really ready for anyone else to know..." He wondered what exactly he was writing down, but he felt it too rude to ask for now. The then noticed he had stopped talking and was staring at the notepad. He resumed the question-answering. Ahem "Sorry... my ears? Well, my Dad taught me a few songs. Most are just funny little songs, thought he did try to teach me more important ones. I know it's a bummer, but the song to hide my true form is the only one that ever seemed to work when I was the singer. He's the heron branded, y'see, so I'm sure he knew it'd be a long-shot for the songs to have effect anyhow, the blood being spread so thin." He probably didn't do the real explanation justice, but he tried as best he could.(edited)

[8:29 AM] Mappy | Best Dog: "I see... Do you see either of these things becoming problematic during the expedition? These traits are quite odd, to say the least," responded the dragon, carefully recording Himaya's explanation. Okay at explaining things

[9:41 AM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "As long as people we meet don't mind who I am, it shouldn't be a problem. But if it's better for me to look like a Beorc, I can sing a song and it's all good! Same thing with lookin' Laguz 'cept I just un-sing it. Either way I'd be good at blending in." He didn't want his strange ability to be seen as a detriment, so he tried to highlight it's strengths for the dragon. Surely he'd understand the racism in some places. Himaya had never experienced any, but that never stopped him from hearing tales about it happening to others. He highly prefers his ears and tail, but didn't want to outright say it, he was a bit paranoid it might be seen as a weakness.(edited)

[9:40 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "So you don't foresee this causing any issues... Alright," Saarva noted on the page: Not gonna cause issues The dragon continued, "Just one more question for you. What are some of your other talents and abilities that you would offer to us here at the investigation? Be thorough," he added, wanting as much information from the Branded as possible before making any decisions.

[10:07 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Well, 'cept for my heron singin' and my wolf strength, I'd say I'm fairly good at picking up shiny goodies! Whether they be behind doors or locked in chests, I'm the guy who can pick 'em and get 'em!" Himaya said with a thumbs up and a proud smile. "And with my fancy 'fang' my Papa gifted me, I'm able to strike at foes from near and far, both physically up close and personal or a bit aways with some magic imbued in it! So I'd say I'm pretty nifty to have in battle too!" Himaya exclaimed, showing off his special 'fang' as it reflected some light rays, clearly well-kept, clean and very shiny. He showed it off like he was a kid in show-in-tell, excited and amazed with wonder. "Oh yeah!" he said as he sheathed his 'fang' Ahem "(I also as well have functions of speaking the Pallo. So help it may give to us and you.)" Despite his broken speaking, his confidence was the contrary! He said this short phrase to Saarva like he was an expert. He wanted to showcase his skills, and blind, fake confidence seemed the best way to go about it.(edited)

[5:38 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: "(And why should we trust a thief in our party?)" quickly responded Saarva in the same language, questioning Himaya's motives.

[5:46 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "(Thiefs usual are of goodness with the scouting and the getting of items valuable for everyone. They can sneak and protect in same times.)" Himaya responded confidently. "(A team no with thiefs is a team no with good goods from chests. Those are good for team and helpful. )" Himaya said, questioning himself about if 'goodies' translated well into Pallo.
"(I also as well not no thief of badness. I only takes from people of badness, not no people of goodness. That is of badness. I am of goodness. It's wolf pride.)" Himaya continued, trying his best to keep up that he was good enough with Pallo. He didn't know the more complicated words, but he tried to talk around it with the words he did know.(edited)

[5:48 PM] Mappy | Best Dog: Pallo Not bad thief? Effort "Well, Himaya, that is everything I have for you today, and I'm glad to let you know that you've been accepted. You'll be second-in-command for Zain's group, unless he would prefer you not to be." The dragon stood up and put his hand out for a handshake, "Thank you. Take a candy on the way out if you'd like."

[5:56 PM] Best Halloween Eevee | Sky: "Awesome!" Himaya said as he stood up, excited. Even his tail was wagging. He quickly shook his hand with a wide smile. "Didn't quite think I'd know th' results so fast, but this is nice, for sure. I'm thankful for the chat and your decision, I promise, me and Zain won't let ya down!" he assured Saarva, now shaking his hand with both his hands, one over the other. "Well if that's it, I s'pose I'll see ya around, 'kay? And yeah, don't mind if I do!" he said as he walked towards the door, taking a candy and immediately popping it in his mouth. " 's really good by the way." he said as he crunched on the candy and reached for the doorknob. "Ah, oh wait. E-excuse me, please." he said, still chewing the candy. He closed his eyes and hummed that tune from earlier. Soon, his ears and tail had disappeared with a puff of glowing smoke. After this, he turned the doorknob and smiled a look that said "goodbye" to Saarva before closing the door, blushing a bit, embarassed for almost forgetting to go back to his Beorc form before leaving.
