"The Stand-in Laguz Meet: Equal Land and Cold Sky."

Cast: Miranda (Ris) & Cirocco (Loyal)

TLDR: Miranda was chewing on her staff when Cirocco greets her. They exchange polite gestures and talk of their past and their reasons for being here. They discover that they were both sent on behalf of others (a Lady and a Father). They happily point out their common ground and part ways.

[9:34 PM] Rislyeu: Miranda was super excited! A new group, people to meet, exciting adventures awaited. She has been called for some sort of group get-together, but it hadn't quite started yet and she was getting a little anxious.
She lay in a quiet corner near the edge of town, in Laguz form, carefully gnawing on her trusty healing staff. Mmm, I'll never get tired of this, though father told me to be careful in this form, but i'm still in Niciri, so I should be okay.
I really wish I could meet some of my new friends though
[9:48 PM] Loyal: Cirocco comes out of the market, a simple bowl in hand with an even simpler assortment of vegetables and seeds within. His meal with Relgia had been an... experience, but between that and the excitement of having been chosen, he was perhaps a touch overwhelmed. For now, he'd just prefer a simpler fare, a bit of brain food to normalize his biorhythm. I'm glad Saarva saw fit to add me to his expedition. But I can't rest on my laurels; I'm sure he'll keep us very busy soon enough, and I mustn't disappoint. Lady Mytia would never have it if her agent had gotten this far only to screw up now. While searching for a quiet place to settle down, he comes upon a great red dog chewing on... a healing staff? Come to think of it, there was a laguz resembling this among Saarva's other choices, no? What was ... her name...? Might as well introduce myself. "Beg pardon," Cirocco says, offering a polite wave as he approaches from the side. His eyes wander across Miranda's form, watching for any sudden movements. "You wouldn't happen to have been with Sir Saarva, would you?"
[10:00 PM] Rislyeu: "Arr?" Miranda looked up and tilted her head to the side, eyes coming to a slim figure standing over her. Oooh! Another Laguz!
She stood up and her tail began to wag quickly behind her. She shifted forms and gathered herself, stick in hand in front of the bird.
"Hi! I'm Miranda I remember the dragon guy he was really cool and level headed." She looked back and forth, confused why this guy would know who she was. "Umm....do I know you?"
[10:19 PM] Loyal: "Unlikely, miss... Miranda," he responds, shaking his head and settling at a comfortable distance - he's not sure how this woman would react to him getting too close, and besides, he still has a bowl of food. "I am but a humble hawk, unworthy of recognition. I thought I remembered you from the hall and thought I should get to know the people I'd be working with." He spares another glance at the well-chewed staff, his curiosity wearing at the edges of his mind. "I hope I'm not disturbing you overmuch."
[10:25 PM] Rislyeu: "No, just enjoying some alone time!" Miranda beamed at the hawk. "So you are also on the hunt? I think it's gonna be real fun!" She appeared to be searching her brain for something, but maybe she forgot. "Did I get your name mister? I think we should get to know each other for an even better time on our trip."
[10:35 PM] Loyal: Cirocco's wings bristle at his own breach in etiquitte. He's spent so long being used to being on the bottom of the pecking order that the idea that someone would ask his name still seems unfamiliar. Seems I'll be doing that a lot until I get used to it... At least she doesn't seem to mind. "Erh, my apologies. Asking all about you while offering nothing myself. The name is Cirocco. And yes, I've joined the team. I've come from Mytia at the behest of My Lady, and I'm hoping to do her proud." The hawk offers a hand in greeting, stepping a little closer. As he does, he notices the collar around her neck, and frowns. Is she...?
[10:45 PM] Rislyeu: "Nice to meet you mister. Wow you came from across the sea, that must have been really cool!" Her eyes lit up at hearing about another nation.
"I knew I would be seeing people from all over, but so many different people from different places all in the same place all doing the same thing is pretty crazy, huh?" She seemed to be asking herself this question just as much as she was trying to ask it of the Bird Laguz. She idly plays with the tag on her collar as she ponders this.(edited)
[11:01 PM] Loyal: Well, it wouldn't do to ask about it so bluntly. I'll see if I can work around the question with a bit of dignity. "Likewise, it's a pleasure. It sounds like they're looking to get all perspectives and skills possible engaged in solving this problem. I know my investigative skills will be of use here, at least." Cirocco's hand remains outstretched. If only because it would be impolite to withdraw it so quickly. "How about you? Where did you come from, Miranda, and what do you do?"

[3:43 PM] Rislyeu: "Oh my goodness, my manners!" Miranda quickly reached out her hand and shook his hand. "I'm from right here in Niciri, a little town along the border down south."
She thinks a bit, putting her finger to her chin. "I mostly just helped folks, took care of them on their long journeys if they happen to pass by. I'm a really good hunter as well, my father taught me all about that as a way to live on my own." Miranda looked up at Cirocco's wings and admired them for a moment. "So do all the people where you're from got wings like those? Must be nice to be able to soar in the wind."
[4:15 PM] Loyal: "A caretaker? Such generosity is admirable. And a local at that, I can see how the group would benefit from having you." She seems to be free, at least. That's good. Fluttering his wings for show, Cirocco follows Miranda's gaze to them. He lowers the tip of one closer to the girl as he speaks, "No, Mytia's mostly a Beroc nation, a matriarchy, but there are plenty of Laguz like ourselves as well. Especially avians, but that's no surprise considering how close Pteryga is." Almost as an afterthought, the hawk adds wistfully, "Soaring is... wonderful, though, I'll admit. The wolves have their might and the dragons their majesty, but I would never trade anything in the world for what I have now."
[4:31 PM] Rislyeu: "Oh so you're from a place next to a place with a lot of Laguz." Miranda seemed to be drawing a map with her fingers, pointing one place for where Cirocco was from, then making a line in the air to another place she thought he was talking about. Beorcs mostly, some Laguz, then over here...More Laguz, mostly birds..
She stuck on this for a time, before snapping back to reality and quickly asking the other Laguz, "Do you help people too mister? Or maybe you were brought here for some other reason, I guess we all have certain talents and they wanted a good variety for our group."
[4:50 PM] Loyal: That is ... one way to put it. "I was sent to Niciri at the behest of My Lady Atena. You could say I help people, but mostly I just attend to her needs at home. However she needs it. Usually by keeping her abreast of anything she needs to know about. As a result, when the news came in, and she ordered her agent to report to Sir Saarva and offer him aid, my mission was clear."(edited)
[5:02 PM] Rislyeu: "Ohh, it sounds like real official business next to me just travelling up the road and putting my name in." I never realized how far this news had spread. "So in a way we're pretty similar in being sent here cause the other people couldn't come themselves. I'm sure my father would be here himself if he didn't need to keep things up at home."
Miranda looked longingly at the sky, thinking about how long she might be missing home.
[5:14 PM] Loyal: "Heh. Everybody has their own reasons for being here, Miranda, but one supposes it's nice to have common ground with someone." As Miranda searches the sky, Cirocco looks her over, trying to get a feel for where her talents may lie. She said she's a good hunter, but she's so small... Hopefully she's good with her hands.
[5:31 PM] Rislyeu: As she thought about home, her hand found her knife underneath her cloak. It was as if she had her family watching over her always with that on her. Thanks father She looked back at the Laguz. "Looks like you got yourself something to eat there, I should probably think about getting myself something, it is about that time." She scanned around the nearby town for a place to get something to eat. "That is, unless you had anything else to ask this dog." She grinned widely at Cirocco.
[5:36 PM] Loyal: "Mm... no, that won't be necessary," Cirocco says, placing a finger to his chin with a smile. "It would not do for someone as lowly as myself to keep a lady from something as important as her meal." "We'll have plenty of time to get to know each other better in the future, I feel. I only ask that we look out for each other, should our investigation come to blows."
[5:41 PM] Rislyeu: Miranda bowed quickly to Cirocco. "Definitely! Also, I don't think it's good to call yourself lowly, we are equals here, or at least I think so." She started into town, waving back at Cirocco as she was leaving. "Stay safe until next time, friend!"
[5:43 PM] Loyal: "You as well, Miranda," he says, sending her off with a flourish of one of his wings.
