Ayer didnt really knew why he signed up to that meeting. He he would not fit in, he never did. But some kind of naive hope had pushed him into coming here, just like it had pushed him into trying to join the group. He had been alone for far too long, maybe it was time to actually open himself up. From the corner of the room where he was gazing, he perceived Zain. His boss would be a good place to start. He walked up to the man and offered a hand:
"I dont think we have met. I've been recruited trough Saarva's interview. I'm Ayer Graywind. A pleasure to meet you."

Zain stood in the back of the room, leaning up against the wall. The Laguz accepted the handshake, "The name is Zain... To be honest with you, I don't really want to be here right now," he shrugged, "But Himaya dragged me here."
He paused and adjusted his collar, before adding just a few more words, "But I guess as the leader, I should come to these events."

"I know the feel. I don't really know why I came here either."
He covered the room in his gaze. A lot of different people seemed to have joined this group, and all of them were new faces. Most of them had found an interlocutor, and the quiet buzz of people discussing resonated in the small hall.
"Knowing the people you will live with for an undetermined amount of time is probably important."
He sluggishly leaned against the wall adjacent to the laguz.
"I usually feel uncomfortable in those kind of parties. But this is nice. Should I call you Boss?"

The Laguz shook his head, "Just Zain is fine."
And that's all he said. He took a moment to look around - and smell - the room. Lots of people despite being such a small building. Lots of smells... probably from the snacks and such on the table in the middle of the room.
The chief looked over to the man he was speaking with, clearly a Kano. Seemed nice enough. Despite Zain's lack of words, he didn't seem shy or nervous; one could tell his little amount of words is normal for him.

Ayer didnt usher a word for about a minute, not wanting to disturb the tranquil silence that Zain and him were sharing. But that would not really be in the spirit of the event.
"So, you have a group now. What's the plan? Where are we going next?"

"Saarva told me to go back to him in a day or two and get his orders. Don't know what he has in store for us," the Laguz responded plainly and simply. He gathered his words before continuing, "But knowing this is the Ramalian party, he's going to give us one of the hardest jobs - we've been allied for hundreds of years, y'know."

Ayer raises an eyebrow.
"A mark of trust. We-," he corrects himself, "You should be proud of it. The hardest jobs yield the best stories."
He crosses his arms on his torso slowly.
"Hopefully calm stories. It's been some times since I had to use my weapons and I am not in a hurry to do it again."

Zain shrugged, "I guesso. I'll just have us do whatever we have to, though I can understand why'd you'd like to avoid violence," his tone of voice indicated that he didn't really care much about whether they got into some skirmishes or not; a fairly neutral tone.

"I am actually fairly certain not a lot of people would understand why I wish to avoid violence myself."
He fakes a chuckle but one would see his eyes were not smiling.
"It's nice to know that the investigation chief is motivated to do anything though."
'I don't know if "motivated" is the word I should have used here.'
"I am going to grab food, should I bring some back?"

He shook his head, "Enjoy it - I heard its good."
The Laguz watched as the Kano walked off, awaiting for anyone else who wanted to greet themselves to come to him instead of him searching out them.
